A magnificent Salamander model, and I'm most pleased that the handlers remain part of its kit as they are important to its profile in Warhammer Fantasy. Also it looks like it's just one on its own, which, while a more expensive option over time than a 3-pack, will make life easier for those like myself who don't have enough room for three in their army list.

However I don't see anything about Razordons, as I thought that it would make more sense to have a combi-Razordon/Salamander kit given they perform a similar role - I hope GW aren't ditching them. Maybe they will appear in a future article in their own box set.

Yeah... The range is bigger at least. Maybe this is just a special attack and not the normal Salamander attack profile? I feel like that's doubtful...

I would like to see how GW redesigns the Razordon model, as many others would. So, I don't think they'll shelve it.

Personally, I never thought GW would make a dual kit for Sallie/Razor models. They might have a similar battlefield role (at least for now in AoS), but they have relatively differently bodies/sculpts.

I love that Salamander sculpt!!! Great beast!
The handlers look a bit akward their frills make them look more like water creatures then skinks.

I like the banner bits. The can be used for custom Starpriests ;)

    Grrr, !mrahil

Agreed. I'm not sure what to make of them. Are they supposed be frills, feathers or some leaf?

The rest of the model is solid though and it shouldn't be too hard to remove the side frills.

That's almost exactly what I thought. I assume they are supposed to be a nod to salamanders that have "feathery" frills, like this
    [IMG]

Yes, I think so. I looks like there are two head options. So, hopefully, you can shave off the frill/feather/leaf things.

Interesting... that' definitely it. Too bad it doesn't work well on the model (at least in my opinion).

This is the model I’ve been waiting for. A lot of detail to focus different paint schemes on… and a die worthy of the damage profile. Agreed that the handlers are a bit of a miss. Trying to differentiate from the standard skinks I guess? They look like they spawn WITH the Sally…

The model is gorgeous, and i love also the handlers.
The rules for the shooting are terrible.

Or simply that they are a spawning with the mark of a Salamander Handler, marking out their role as exactly that. Makes sense from a lore perspective even though it looks strange to have Skinks with Salamander crests.

I like it. I like the skinks despite the non-standard frills.

The lore description is ass, though. Lizardmen/seraphon are not Tau, and don't need marker lights.

yeah, honestly treating them as cats is silly enough to be funny.

I really like this new mini! I always preferred the 5th edition salamanders over the 6th edition ones.

Seems like it might be a reference to the laser guided atrociraptors and indoraptor from the last 2 Jurassic World movies.

Agreed. I'm still not a fan of the way they look on the model.

They don't look hard to remove, so there is that.
