Wow it has been a few months last I checked it was the beginning of June and now it is suddenly August?! Anyway I have been painting some infinity aliens recently, here are some of the Tohaa I have been working on. I have been using a mix of contrast paints and other paints for these guys, still sorting out the scheme a bit. The Tohaa specifically are the dudes with the "artichoke" hair. They are an OOP faction, but they recently had a reprint run that I decided to buy into. To supplement them I also purchased a few other infinity Aliens like the buglike Exrah, who I will use to fill out the force as proxies. The Exrah below I actually won during the last Infinity mercenary campaign league where my X-Men Nomads came in 4th place overall!! (out of 8!). For this next season of mercenaries I am running the following batch of minis, they are spread between the Spiral Corps faction and the Onyx Contact Force so I can fit in some Exrah. They are from left to right: Void Operator Killer Hacker, the ninja first-mate Igao, the Captain Kriigel (who demolished my last opponent with his out-of line-of-sight attacks), and the EXO (Executive Officer) with his plasma carbine. I have been enjoying this batch so far, still need to do the bases. I really like the Sukeul Commando, of which there have only been two minis ever released and only one came in the OOP reprint. Fortunately one of the local infinity players has a 3D printer and gifted me two more to paint up. They are really good quality, kudos to the sculptor! I hope everyone has been having a good summer. I checked my game list over the past year, and I played 27 infinity games + mercenary campaign games over the past year so far! Really enjoying this game.
Infinity N5 has been announced for next October, didn't think there would be a new edition on the near horizon so soon after I started getting into the game. Looking forward to see what happens, I still have plenty of backlog to go through. Posting my Caskuda TAG, he is going to be my big alien robot for my Tohaa force: He is made of a resin-type material that made reposing really easy. I like this pose compared to the original, but I may tweak the wings a bit.
Took some group photos for my Operation Blackwind start box minis. Aleph: And Haqqislam: Very happy with how both groups turned out!
I finished my Caskuda TAG for the infinity painting contest going on right now! I am pretty happy with how he turned out and I am calling him done for now. I enjoyed the conversion/repose process of this mini and the painting process too. Also really enjoyed painting that corpse flower! The base is a bit less "jungle" and reads more "that place in LOTR where Boromir was killed + random corpse flower" than I would have wanted, but I am happy enough with it. There is a lot of stiff competition out there! Many high-powered painters are participating; if you check out #infinitypaintcontest or #infinityuniverse on instagram there are a ton out there right now. Anyway, looking forward to running this guy, hopefully soon!
Thanks! I highly doubt I am anywhere close to award status given the absolutely astounding work I have been seeing on Instagram recently, but I am glad he is done! I have been enjoying this Tohaa and infinity alien project recently, and took a small detour to complete another rather obscure X-Men! Here he is, Gorgeous George! Enjoyed painting this dude. The character is actually a member of the Nasty Boys (Mr. Sinister's henchmen) who has some muddy-transformation, similar to Mr. Fantastic or Plastic-man but looks like he is made of purple mud. He is a Chaksa Longarms model holding a portable autocannon (see: very big gun)
Greetings fellow lizards! I didn't paint much in September but I am hoping to make up for it in Orktober. No orks to paint at this time though, but I did finish the muddy-basing for my Tohaa recently. Makauls: I need to add jungle plants but these minis are more than playable now. For the most part these are all old Infinity sculpts, but they are a very nice change of pace from my Haqqislam minis. Kamael Infantry and one Sakiel: Over the last few months I have gotten a few more games in my local Infinity Mercenaries campaign as well. So far we are 1-6 so not that great (technically one of the games was a draw) but I have been having a lot of fun bringing aliens to the table. This is another pic of my starter mercenary company: Left to right: Hanz der Hacker (a Void Operator Killer Hacker), Iggy G. Johnson (the Igao ninja warrioress), Captain Kris Kriigel (the leader, a Kriigel Agent and MVP of my team), and Moonface the Commissariat Liaison (the kamikaze EXO Executive Officer with plasma carbine). One more game left in the campaign to play, lets hope it's a good one!
Mate, what happened to your Samurai project? Got any more of them in the works? Also, I wonder if you've noticed these - when they were first released I thought of you: https://wargamesatlantic.com/collections/all/products/samurai https://wargamesatlantic.com/collections/all/products/ashigaru If you ever fancied replaying that battle you were eager to replicate in a more accurate scale, now you can
@Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl those look really nice! I have seen the smaller scale from a different company before (Zvezda?) but I have never made anything at that scale. Maint reason why I started making my samurai at 28mm was because I got the Test of Honour skirmish box, and just went with it from there. Were I to ever branch out and do a smaller scale these would be a great possibility!
