Aww its ok you can do it, I put things down for a while after trying my carnosaur but you just have to get out that brush and try again!
Update time. So I'm almost done the crew just some highlights to go and i can glue them in place. I'm also been working on the snakes coming up with lots of pretty ones to flow down to the base. Is it weird I like the pretenders colours over actual coral snakes . Three other quality of line improvements. 1) I have a new display case to try to keep the dust and cat off my minis. B) My desk now has an articulated lamp so I won't kill my back painting after dark. 4. I realized if i just sharpied the names of all my paints onto the lids I would find them faster. My cat would still prefer I pet her then muck about with some paint.
Something old and something new maybe a few days late for May 's Monster mash . Here's a few pictures of my bastiladon, as you can see I've created this weird custom model to represent my solar enguine of chotek. I found a few spare bits and created this more snakey thing instead of the crystal you're supposed to use ;P. Something a little new I've been working on my metal carnosaur following the how to paint magnus the red warhammer tv tutorial . I don't think the lighting on this picture quite does the effect justice but its been very fun. just have to finish the rider. Show you more later when the rider is further along. I'm also working on the riders for my terradons. trying to finish that project up but its hard remembering where I left off.
I'm not a huge fan of either carnosaur really this one maybe edges it out for nostalgia XD. The new one has that weird squat face and seems a bit out of proportion to the other sculpts. Not that its a bad sculpt though.
I really like how your bastiladon came out, especially the color choices. That blue below that tortoise-painted shell, amazing! And the snakes of course. Your beastie has my (invisible) vote!
Haha thanks, I found the snakes hard to be varied and pop out etc. I've been wanting to paint one of these for a long time and I'm glad it came out so good, if maybe slightly over done
So I'm still working away on a couple old bloods. Obviously my carnosaur needs a ride and I've just really started working on them today. But I've also been chipping away on this one. I did the base ages ago I think if you go back there's even a picture of it somewhere . The part that needs the most work is all the metal, I've been told that if I try flesh shade I'll get a much warmer gold at the end so I kind of want to try that but I need to make time to go out and get it. I'm picking up a new project that will require a lot more fleshtones so I'll have to pick up another shade soon anyway You can also see a few of the old metal skink terradon riders in the back ground there, I'm slowly trying to finish them off so I can finis my green and khaki terradons I was working on when I went on hiatus. Maybe I'll grab some pictures of them when they're a bit further along.
That reminds me of the fact that this is one of the very few current Seraphon models that I don't own yet (the other one is the Starseer). hmm.....
He's a super fine little model, I don't know much about the meta of how much one needs a suntooth maul dude or large numbers of heros. I picked him up once upon a time to get into free shipping territory
I think the Oldblood might see a little more action in the future, now that use of multiple command abilities is becoming a thing.
True, Being just into the hobbying I'm pretty far removed from the actual metagame and strategy . This is probably why i have an ark of sotek, troglodon etc....
Two Saurus heros down, take that june. I kind of wish I'd copied my last oldblood and put more magenta on their faces looking back on that model a moment ago but they came out well so it will just make old crimson face more distinct from mister fancy gold and jade armour and mister I ride an implacable death lizard. I also tried doing a power weapon style effect on the spear not sure how it turned out. But its a first attempt. Probably should have practiced on my old space marines... what ever it came out fine .
