Or maybe clean the lens before you take the pictures. My phone always gets the lens dirty and it takes so much better pictures after I clean it

You may be right there! My nearly two year old gets hold of my phone from time to time so it's bound to be smeggy. :)

Also there should be a macro function. Should be a flower symbol that works better for smaller objects.

Yeah it auto selects that option already actually, I'm going to try and get some more paint on tonight so I'll post pictures. If this work day ever ends and my toddler actually goes to sleep...

Edit: Hey look I'm now a Skink! is that a twenty post mark I assume then?

It is yes

Hey ho everyone - No paint applied last night due to being sidetracked by other things (damn you game of thrones!) but I also wondered if people here know about black hat miniatures paint line? If i remember correctly they used to supply Citadel with their paints, once upon a time.

You get more paint for your money and the colours seem eerily familiar...

Vaguely remember them, as long as the paint is acrylic you should be fine, I know for a fact that all GW paints are manufactured in the UK by a Manchester based company.

They are acrylic yeah, I've used them for a while. I use a mix of those and the official GW ones at the moment. Worth a look for the UK based, not sure about international shipping.

These were the latest pictures I was able to take, I think the lens of my phone camera is scratched so will try and dig out the other half's digital camera once he's finished. Also doing a green dude with a bone pattern I think.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I've ordered the battletome because I'm a sucker for army books!

8.jpg 9.jpg 10.jpgI've also dug out these photos of the last thing I painted with any level of competency, it's not to the standard of most of what I see on here but the photos are pretty good at least!

It's a great standard and you will improve the more you paint ;)
Thanks for your kind words.
I think it's alright, I was proud of it at the time, especially the swirly blue force weapon. Certainly sick of painting SIlver afterwards though!

I think the main thing I've learned from after when I painted as a kid, is that taking your time is everything, oh and thin your paints haha.

I have a terrible habit of not basing things, but I think once there's a few done i'll be getting some Jungle grass to base them.

The base makes the model and it is worth spending a bit of time getting them finished, I hate doing bases but I always feel good once I've done them.

Yeah i'll be doing them this time (I promise!) with some inspiration from here.

In other news, my plan for Saurus number two will be on a similar theme but with starker contrast between the colours. I'm basing it off one of my favourite monsters from one of my favourite games, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate:

Any suggestions on how I can get a good effect similar in theme?
