Blog Beardy Gekko's random assortment of things

I´d say I liked more the saurus that had a lighter belly colour than that of the scales. It kinda looks like having lipstick on :joyful:

Although I might do some lipstick lizards just for you now. ;)

Cheers! Yeah hopefully, the timing isn't great for me, but I'll try and get a couple of entries in. :)

I agree, that looks excellent!!
Now he doesn't look like having lipstick on :p

Couple of 'finished' and almost finished Saurus, over all I think the scheme will look pretty striking once there's a bunch of them.

I think the shield colour adds a nice dimension to them draws away from it looking too samey - just my opinion :) besides green shields in the jungle make sense :)

All right you convinced me ;)

Do you have an idea what colour you'd think suitable? I'm not putting more blue or orange on haha.
I am not really sure about that. I might suggest to try purple (mix of red & blue) so the models don´t look drowned in colour, or even pink if you want their shields to be more visible. Over all I think the best would be to use some colour in between the red-blue spectrum. If you add green you are adding another primary colour (yellow) and I feel like it breaks the "harmony" of colour created by the blue and red (the cream could be a very light red). If you left yellow out of the mix another advantage would be that you would be able to use it to apply contrast in specific models, like between the riders and mounts or your heroes. But I am getting too into the colour theory and making things complicated without needing to. I guess it´s a matter of trying. But anyways @SlanntaClause ´s reasoning made it make sense ;).

Edit: Just realized, don´t know how will you base him but you could use the shield as a way to tie the model to the base (If you were going to paint the base green don´t listen to me)

@Jorgik makes some excellent colour points too - maybe try a variation on afew so you can see which you preffer

If you want the green to tie in more instead of being a contrast paint the weapons jade with obsilidon inlay not metallic.

Yeah that's not a bad idea, one of my spear guys has a jade headed weapon, I just wasn't sure how to get the right effect with the clunky hand weapons.
