My opinion is it's too green, take a look at this shield,

My method, the shield was painted black first then Drybrushed Incubi darkness then drybrushed randomly with stegadon green then pallid wych white with a fine detail brush and quickly and softly stroke the shield in random directions, then glaze randomly with biel tan green.

But your still looks good just different. ;)

I see were your going with it now, instead of white use a dark grey and maybe a copper colour for the veins.

Looking forward to seeing you pull this off ;)
 
So far looks really cool. That bright jade is looking good, though @Crowsfoot has some good points. This is going to be awesome!
 
I like the jade! Eventually I will learn to paint it as well as either of you, or at least that is the goal. :artist:

Really like the genestealer! I still have a few tyrrannids lying around from the old Battle for Maccrage set that I never painted, yours gives me inspiration to go back and look at them eventually. Also like the inclusion of the blood-angels helmet on the base!

Also noticed the mask you used for inspiration! Looks like the reconstructed death-mask of Pakal the Great of Palenque. Good pic!
 
The base is how it comes as it's a space hulk genestealer but thanks I like the contrast.

I didn't know about the mask's origin to be honest, was just googling for inspiration!

I was trying to make him look grimy and low key, which is a departure from my usual style. The colour is a little dark in this photo too, but i'm not due for a new phone with a decent camera until December unfortunately.
