    Awesome saurus!

Your slann is perfect just the way he is :D.

Mandalorian may have to come save him from the evil empire if you are not careful.

    Oooh!
Looking at my phone's screen I didn't even notice the seams were painted on.
    Great job!

And I also like the highlights on the purple armor. Inused a similar recipe for my Morghasts and Arkhan's armor.

So as a companion for the sorcerer, I have a slightly kitbashed chaos lord salvaged from the war shrine kit with a new right arm and sword. I'm really happy how this guy turned out, especially considering how little experience I have doing bare humanoid skin (so if folks have feedback on how to do skin better please let me know)

Thanks. I was doing my chaos dudes in purple before I saw your stuff but I definitely lifted some inspiration from your posts for sure.

Thanks, I've been looking for a way to do magical weapons that I like for ages and even though the color scheme is right off a monster energy drink can I really like them too. :)

EDIT: Plus they're ridiculously easy to do too.

    They really are!

I used that technique (in blue with white) for my Saurus Guard and I was quite surprised how easy it was. I am not the most precise painter but it worked almost on the first try.

Finished off my manticore / warshrine kitbash that has been going on in some form or another for over a year. For those unaware I have been trying to salvage the heroes from the manticore kit as i find the manticore model so bad. I originally was going to put a carnosaur head on the manticore but that ended up not working either. I ended up getting a second hand body of a chaos warshrine at a bit swap and used bits from a ruined nagash kit i got second hand and finally this seems to have come together into something I like.

Very glad to see this project be done with, and it even turned out not half bad. I am doubly eager to be done with this as I am eager to do more seraphon stuff now that I have a new color scheme in hand. While some stuff turned out pretty well i can tell i rushed the paintjob a bit, but I know I would have abandoned this project had it taken me even an extra few days. Better not perfect than not done and all that.

    WARSHRINE.jpg

starting to feel like i have the barest understanding of glazes as you can see with the eyes of the shrine

Got to do a fun little project today that I'd been meaning to do for ages. I ordered a batch of dropper bottles online as I detest using citadel paint pots
    20200110_134848.jpg

It was actually not difficult at all to move them over to the much easier to use dropper bottles, aside from a paintsplosion on the very last one, evil sunz scarlett so it does look like I had the mother of all nosebleeds st my desk now.

And the labels transferred over very easily too which made me very happy that I didn't need to make new ones. I only did 50 today, but have more bottles coming in the mail to move the rest of the paints over soon.

So in this flurry of motivation I seem to have on hand, I decided as a quick project to strip and re-do some early chaos stuff I did. I pulled out a sorcerer lord who had a much...rougher paint job than I remember, and did him as a one day painting challenge. I think my faces still need improvement, and I really wanted to do some NMM effects on him, but I think I'll try NMM for the first time on a larger mini that I have more room to mess with. That being said, really proud of the new paint job and very humbled to see the before and after and how much I've improved in the about 2 years that have passed between models.

Real quick post, decided to re-do the horns based on some feedback I got on reddit.

So I finished another project today...

Don't have much to say about this one. Turned out pretty darn good (even if the claws ended up looking like little candy corns), happy that my first completed model with this color scheme is looking okay, onward and upward!
    Feedback and criticism welcome.

That is impressive work! You even moved over all the labels too??!??

Really great to see how much you have progressed in such a short time! Well done :vulcan:

Thanks warden, yeah the labels actually peel off super easily and are still more than tacky enough to stick to a new bottle without any additional glue or tape. As i said, it surprised the hell out of me, but a pleasant surprise.

That Carno is great! Really dig the star nebula theme, thought of doing something simillar for the summoned units in my army, but I scratched that, deemed it too much work.
So I'm really happy that someone did do something like that!

Also I like that sorcerer very much, nice colours, great TMM and those freehands really add to it!

Also the progress you made painting wise is great to see, keep up the good work!

Blessedly finished off my unit of 40 chaos marauders. I really am not a fan of this sculpt so it was definitely a bit of a struggle to find the motivation to do it. They also turned out a bit rough because I was attempting a bunch of speed painting and airbrush techniques I've never done before, with mixed to poor results. The real question is, do I care? No, no I do not. Onto models I actually care about now...

Doing models that don't inspire you can be a chore... that being said well done! It is still an accomplishment, and if nothing else it gave you practice. :artist:

I agree, onto the next project!
