But for the avatar, cropping the centre and blowing it up might be worth a look (at the risk of losing some "details")

About the beard on the slann I must say that the various golden trinkets dangling from his lip or the headpiece, even if they can't exactly be omologues, were intended to be visual analogues for the replaced beard, just like the headpiece also offers an analogue to the eyebrows.

@n810 the colors are perfect.

Could be many things: a very warm climate, a diet of fresh Skaven, another high initiative creature (probably an elf-thing given the artistic flair) in disguise, being part of a specialised speedier spawning, or anything else that would counter the stereotypical sluggishness of cold blooded lizards when not baked in the sun. I'm nay an artist but I was seriously impressed how quickly n810 got that colouring done.
