Blog Drofnum's first attempt at painting. Sky pirate update.

Looks so awesome! I really like that purple tone you used works really well with the yellow and green feathers.

The amount of progress you made from your first post to the last one has been amazing! I absolutely love the pale purple skin on the skink preist.

Finished some Chameleon skins and a Starpriest. I need to get some good pictures of those, heres a cell phone pic of the Starpriest for now though!

Thanks for the kind words all!

Got my new phone today and figured the best way to test the camera is with painting updates! It turns out my matte varnish isnt as matte as i would like.

I'm not sure on the bases. Most of my army has jungle bases so I'll probably keep that with the Starpriest. The gryph hound I have no idea.

Looking back over this i have also realized i've been a bit remiss in posting some of my models! Have a Bastiladon wip right now, I want to get all of my army in one shot since its nearly complete(like that will ever be true! lol). I'm better at painting than remembering to take pictures though, thats for sure.

That provides a high quality of pictures for us to look at, so don't worry! ;)

And a couple of the Silver Tower characters i've done. Excelsior war priest, Ogroid Thaumaturge, Pink horror and Darkoath Chieftan. Still have the Sauraus warriors but they are in my case buried behind a couple projects and nothing special really as they were just a quick job to get them done. I think thats everything so far good picture dump for one day!

These look so awesome! Great job on these guys. Your troglodon looks incredible! The bastiladon looks fantastic so far.

They all look really good and look how far you have come already, now you need to step it up a bit, here goes...

Teeth and claws: They need a bit more definition where they meet skin or goto apoint, look at the teeth on your trog they look very one dimensional atm, where as the claws look better but would benefit from a bit more work so....

Teeth: wash with Agrax earthshade where they meet the gum, add white scar on the tips.
Claws: try highlighting the ridge and tip with white, maybe a wash where they meet skin.

But they are fine as they are and I'm only trying to help you see the next level this is by no means me saying it's bad far from it, excellent work so far. ;)

Definitely appreciate the tips. I'll try that out and see how it looks.
