Game Room Projects... 2.0

I'd recommend Republic and Separatist symbols from Star Wars. Also I know there is a book called Star Wars Propaganda that includes propaganda posters for Republic, Separatists, Rebellion and Empire definitely, and possibly First Order and New Republic as well. I imagine some of those would look good on your wall as well.

As for Warhammer, if you're a woodworker, perhaps have a go at making a full-size Saurus Warrior shield - that certainly would be impressive! Have a look at pics of the ones in Bugman's Bar for inspiration - I know you're not able to go there unless you take a plane, but have a look at some pics - I know there's definitely a Dwarf shield, Greenskin shields and a Tomb King shield (I've been there), and try to scale those to a Saurus shield and you'll have the approximate size you need.

All great ideas, I was thinking to add some Star Wars symbols, but as I am a Star Trek Original Series fan first I was going to get some old TV show episode posters printed, or even this one as a joke :p

If I wind up creating my own death star playing board I will need to go heavier on the Star Wars though.

Plus thanks for the tip about Bugman's Bar! I have never been to GW home central, it looks like a cool place!

You could always line it with a nice classy piece of green felt. :pompus:

I actually do have green felt now in the side pockets. Indeed it gives the table a billiards feel :pompus:

Just need some new fabric to make into gaming boards. Gotta save up for next month.

Looks awesome!

I am still working on the long-term plan of getting the "boss" convinced that we need to extend the house :angelic:

I am honored! I definitely did not expect to be getting something like this for Christmas. And I don't think I ever got a like from the mighty @The Red Devil before so today is a good day!

Does this mean that there is a supreme being who is even more powerful than the mighty @The Red Devil ? :wideyed: What manner of sorcery is this!?!?

This is indeed shocking news :D

First stop... Getting a house big enough to contain one of these tables. Very shortly after second stop.... Getting a table like this.

Hell, that is cool.

Or get a kitchen extension (I knew it would come in handy)

We have a lot of land around our house, so an extension is far more likely than moving. Either way we'll be needing money!

Can that part of the table be covered so you can store models/terrain in it?

Yes, both ends of the table extend an extra foot past the 4x6 foot playing area. That leaves plenty of space for army rulebooks, dice, drinks, or out-of-action miniatures to prevent the playing space itself from ever getting cluttered.

Plus the new shelving helps a lot too. In the future I would love to get a display case to put my finished Lizardmen/Bretonnians in, but that will have to wait until they are all painted and based :artist:

I was thinking about bulk items, like terrain and books you might not be using at the moment.

So if you are like me others in this hobby may also have had a similar storage problem:

warden201803_wargame table 18_old paint box.jpg

For the longest time all my paints have been stored in a single box. It was mostly for easy transport, but always made digging for paints a pain, especially the little ones from GW or privateer press.

...UNTIL NOW!

After a flash of inspiration I decided to throw this monstrosity together:

warden201803_wargame table 17_paint shelf.jpg

I got the idea after searching through the internet and not finding the exact dimensions I wanted made out of wood. I wanted enough space to store both the GW-sized paints on top as well as all the Apple Barrel products I have, all on the same shelf.

It is a little rickety looking, and would have looked much nicer if it was made out of wood, but I had enough extra foam board lying around that I was able to put this thing together this morning all in one go!

Now instead of rummaging through a disorganized paint box, all my craft and hobby paints are stored together all in one place, and look pretty good together.

Edit: the overall dimensions of this shelf are 18 inches wide, 12 inches high at the top of the back shelf, and just under 12 inches deep. Each individual shelf is about 1.5 inches deep, which works for all the GW/AB/other paints. Some of the bigger paint containers will need another shelf, to be put together in the future after I get some more foam board!

I may go ahead and paint the thing for a little extra protection, and possibly add some colorful heraldry in the front. It almost looks like stadium seating, I might use this method in the future for some Bretonnian joust-seating.

At some point I would like to add some for much of the bigger terrain pieces. Right now I just have some plastic storage bins and leftover scrap paper to paint on stored haphazardly underneath

I see you also use DecoArt paint! I feel that although it may not always be as good as GW paint, you can get a lot more of it for considerably less! :)
