GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

I disagree.
I like how Sylvaneth look. Not necessarily the Tree Revenants or Spite Revenants but the Branchwych, Dryads, Kurnoth Hunters and Treelords look cool.
Just to be clear, I love the way the old Wood Elves look... both the elves themselves and the forest spirits. But the sculpt of the model that @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl posted is hideous!

I like the sce but it might be because they remind me of the angel look in the darksiders games. Thou when i get to mine lots of changes will be made for a start im dping some Ulrich theam sce as if sigmar is giving honour to Ulrich as the i believ was his god when sigmar was human

They look OK, but remember that the Dryads and Treelords were the old Wood Elf models, and the Branchwych and Kurnoth Hunters were based on them to help tie the look in. Certainly you could use the new Kurnoth Hunters with scythes as new Tree Kin models and the Branchwych would be another Branchwraith model. The Revenants on the other hand look horrible - I was mainly targeting the Revenants and the new Drycha model. Does anyone else here think that they should be allied with Chaos as evil, mutated tree spirits to fight the Sylvaneth rather than an extension of the Sylvaneth army?

Warhammer Space Wolves!
Funny thing is i really hate the way the space merriens look. The stupid big ass boots....and no neck helmet...but i like SCE yah they need work. But they work for me as i have already stated.

Do agree with you and @NIGHTBRINGER on thr look of the wood evls. The tree models should just have embraced the dryad look and not use the ghost...oh but if i use zombies insted of the elf ghost that would be cool....ill need to ponder this

What about the Gryphhounds?

(Also, SCEs look much less Space Mariner if they get Swords, Bretonnian Helms, and any Shield that is not a Sigmar Poster ...any other kind of shield at all.)

So much better:

...even with just the head swap.

I have seen these conversions before, and they look ok. A good way to keep the Bretonnians alive in the new setting; I would rather the fluff/lore of the new universe had said the stormcast were the resurrected warriors of the old Bretonnia/Empire faction, maybe as the souls of the old Grail Knights or something. And with a better name and less storms everywhere.

That being said, you can't beat just the regular Bretonnians on horseback.

And the grubby peasants.

Long live Bretonnia.

I think these look much worse...

Double euhh! These abominations should be allied with Chaos, not Order!

I agree, these things do not look very appealing; they look like the souls of something being ripped out of trees. If they had stuck with the treeman/dryad motif throughout the army it would have been better looking.

What's this?... an AoS model that I actually like? Okay, there have admittedly been a few like the Lord of Change and the Gaunt Summoner on disc, however I never bought either of those.

I may just have to purchase this one for my WoC forces!

Yeah... :blackeye:

I am not a fan of this one... aside from the name (Darkoath Warqueen??) the model reminds me more of Rocky Horror Picture Show than of a lady chaos warrior...

these ones are, indeed, really good. More interesting than the original SCE
More like proper knights than fantasy Space Marines. You could say/hope that the Bretonnians were just waiting for the time they could get vengeance on the Empire by becoming super knights riding wingless dragons (or massive dragons in the case of the Stardrake). Not so tough now, eh, Karl Franz?

Well, the new Necromunda sets are out! :joyful: Don't think much of the Escher minis but the Goliath ones would make good Genestealer Aberrants if I gave them some Genestealer heads and some more melee weapons.

Also the scenery sets would look great for Shadow War Armageddon and 40K games as well as Necromunda.

Look forward to seeing more of the Necromunda houses appearing later on!

There seems like there has been so much focus on this Necromunda. I've never played the game myself.

Well, now's your chance to have a go - apparently the new rules are more similar to 8th Edition 40K than before, but it surely is still similar to the original rules, which are in turn similar to Shadow War Armageddon.

Fair enough, although I am definitely not looking for another game. I haven't even played 40k in ages.

I am so sorry guys. University on the capital city with 4 hours total travelling between +12 hours of studying is no easy task.

Yet, I have finally found myself a space to share with you great news for the next week.

Yes there are no Space Marines Battleforce this year.

But we've got some Stormcast Eternals so it counter-balances it.

Also, for those of you 40K players; Chapter Approved 2017.

Man do I wish to keep up to date this thread. Fortunately I'm just a month ago from finishing this semester (thanks a lot, earthquakes...), but meanwhile, remember, this thread is for the forum, feel free to share great news!

A pleasure to see you again guys, I'll be back! (eventually).

Am I the only one reading it this way?...

You know, because SCE are Space Marines. lol

I'd like to ask what "Chapter Approved" is. A rules update like the GHB2017 for AoS?? Does it make the core rule book obsolete?

I really hope not. I have buyed it like one month ago...

I'd like to ask what "Chapter Approved" is.
  • There used to be White Dwarf articles titled "Chapter Approved"
  • They were always bylined to Andrew or Andy Something
  • This is 40K Space Marine business
  • I think the old material was always just a new paint scheme with minor force selection choices associated with an approved name for yet another Chapter of Space Marines**

*the blue is what I know for sure
**cause that is what the galaxy needs more of.

I pretty much have no clue of 40k so I am just wildly guessing here. :D

EDIT: So this is more an addendum to the Space Marine Codex than anything else I guess.
