GW News: LAS VEGAS OPEN 2025

New old world update with teases of plastic bits for tomb kings and bretonnians.

I don't need to tell you that if tomb kings actually become purchasable again that I'm going to be w beggar.

YES BABY, IT'S ON!

Gods, I'm relieved and ecstatic that GW are doing the right thing. Finally Tomb King and Bretonnian fans will get the models they deserve. The only downer is the Tomb Kings shield, which has a skeleton with crossed arms that would be more at home on a Space Marine Storm Shield, and two 'sunlight' halos that are more Stormcast than anything else, though hopefully there will be plenty of shields to choose from.

But then this makes me all the more impatient for when TOW arrives! Get on with it GeeDubs!

Bretonnians vs tomb kings starter potentially?

I'm wondering if it might be, judging by one of the headers for the article on Warhammer Community:

It sounds like they're gearing us up for a Bretonnians vs Tomb Kings arena at the very least, which is going to be fricking awesome.

The more things change in 40k, the more they stay the same.

Realistically, there's so much of the game setting that constantly remains unexplored to the point where GW could just do away with "advancing the plot" and instead shift the focus of the game to a different region altogether for the new plot.

Honestly, the only reason the plot needs to be advanced is to have an excuse for new models, and even then most armies can get away with "this army is a bit special/has access to a special weapon/has a massive armory of old tech laying around, so they have an new unit now"

When it comes to the actual story just moving from planet to planet, or system to system, should give plenty to work with.

I like the look of the Bretonnian stuff. I'm looking forward to the seeing all the none Empire human factions when they come out. I love the Empire, I have 5-6k pts of them, but I always wanted to see other human factions get attention.

Good to see appearances of digitised versions of both classic 4th Edition models and the later Forge World ones, with GW trying to tie the two together. The two separate ranges made much smaller lists than other armies at the time they were released, but putting them together makes a much more comprehensive Dawi-Zharr army list.

With all the slaves thrown in there as well, you've got the potential for a truly grand army. Less than a month until release, so the news and updates on the full roster can't be far off.

I'm happy that both made an appearance. Obviously the Legion of Azgorh are lacking in special characters (other than Drazhoath), so the old school characters were brought in.

My love of the Chaos Dwarfs is centered on the Forge World range so I'm extremely happy that the Legion of Azgorh range seems very well represented.

Plus, add to the mix the Hobgoblins and their wolf riders...

I may have simply missed it in the trailer (as a lot was happening and some of the stuff is pretty zoomed back and small on my monitor), but I'll be curious if we'll see the Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher, Siege Giant and Hellcannon. I really hope that CA port over and include the Hellcannon in the Chaos Dwarf roster. The Hellcannon crew was the very first thing that sparked my interest in Chaos Dwarfs!

Funnily enough the Lammasu was actually one of the units from the old 4th Edition Dawi-Zharr range:

But GW did bring it back for Storm of Magic in 8th Edition, along with the Great Taurus:

So I'll give you a half-pass for that one ;)

I do remember that old model. I'm glad it was updated to better fit alongside the Forge World aesthetic.

The Legions of Azgorh army list does indeed have it listed as a mount option even though they never released an updated model for it.

that trailer is full of win.
And i must say they did an amazing work on the Destroyer
It's pretty badass. Definitely a good representation of our CC tournament grand champion. It looks like it could level cities!
