Blog Huatli’s Horde

@ravagekitteh thank you very much, it’s really cool to see how far I’ve come! In all honesty I hadn’t realized until it was much too late that that was exactly what I had done. I was just sort of rolling with what I knew. Now that I have one box of just about everything (still missing a unit of gator boys) I’ll have to start filling out the ranks on either side

Just the eyes and the tail left on this guy. I have given up entirely on the gem because freaking yikes. This was one of the first models I did fully submerged and I’m fairly happy with the waves, however I wish I had been patient enough to do a few more layers of the water effect as he sort of looks like he’s floating on the water instead of being partially submerged in it. Something to take forward I suppose!

Personally I think it would make sense for the Seraphon to walk on water - what with them being summoned by the Slann and being made of pure starstuff

I agree that the colour scheme is really good. I’ve not commented before but I love your basing work in this thread. And hey, at least you’re trying stuff and putting in the hours! Sometimes frustration occurs because you are noticing things as a painter that you don’t know how to do better yet, but that too is progress, just in your eyes and not your hands.

Thank you for the kind words!

I’ve been out of the painting biz for a little bit with work and life but I am currently stripping my Kroak right now and hopefully will have him painted up sometime soon. Other than that I am pretty much out of projects right now and I’ve been hesitating to buy more models because the only ones I really need are skinks and resin models and I’ve kinda been hoping they would update the Kroxigor/Razordon line. At least Kroak will give me something to do for now!

Love the Dark Sunblood and his mallet.
Nice :artist:job

So I’ve been deployed for the last seven months, three more to go before I’m out of here, but I’m already starting to prep paint schemes for the battletome update. Been going through this blog and I like all the skinks I’ve done but I feel like I can do my saurus and big dinos with a bit more fineness now.

My biggest question to everyone would be how to strip these models. I’m going to have a hell of a time prying the out of the water and it’s almost guaranteed to completely ruin the bases, which is okay because I think I can do better with the water effects as well once I get back to practicing. Anyone have some ideas on how to make the process of de-basing and stripping a little easier
