Blog Imrahil's Paint and WIP log

The models for my first ever commission have arrived:

MESBG Easterlings!
The commission is for my brother to wield his own force in our next Battle Companies campagn.

Of course it will be a non-payed commission with my brother supplying the models and paints ;)

So more grey models to tackle

First of many meneer! Make sure he promotes your paint jobs!

First models are assembled. And of course the first conversion is made :)

Here are the pieces I used:

The body is an extra part in the sprue that can be used as a casualty from battle. Mostly used to Spice up bases of their enemies or battlefield terrain. The back of it is a little more flat than the normal boys.
With the cape I covered it up rather nicely.

He is given a shield which I glued a piece of paperclip to as a handle.
I also swapped his right hand(already done before this picture.

Now for the result:

Awesome work here meneer!

I particularly admire your persistence (it's helping to get me going on mine).

Thank you!! Good to here it helps others with their hobby :happy:
My motivation recently is the, near, monthly game nights with my brother.
(which is Battle Companies of MESBG, so not much Lizards as of late )

My motivation recently is the, near, monthly game nights with my brother.

Yesterday was one again :)

A next instalment of Battle Companies, Rivendell Elves vs Men of Gondor.
Since last Game night my brother's forces of Gondor are reduced by a couple of models. My forces of Rivendell on the other hand got a warrior and a knight reinforcement. For the difference in power the Men of Gondor get a 7 re-roll count and a bonus 7 influence at the end of the scenario.

The scenario we settled on was 'Seize the Outpost'. In this scenario the goal is to overrun an outpost guarded by Mordor Orcs. To even it out we added a few more Orcs than set in the instructions (18 in stead of 12). The Orcs are moved by both players alternating and have the only two rules: They can not leave the outpost and they have to attack the closest model in the shortest way possible.
(In hindsight this alternate moving of 18 models was quite time consuming:rolleyes:)

The criteria for the end of the game is to reduce the outpost defenders to 50% of their starting numbers. If this criteria is met at the end of that turn a roll of a D6 determents if the game ends (1 or 2) or not (3+).

In the third turn of the game we killed exactly 50% of the defenders and manage to roll a 1. At this point the winner is the Battle Company with the most models within the outpost wins the scenario. This ended up to be the forces of Gondor.

The aftermath resulted in no loss of models and my brother getting two warriors reinforcement and one warrior with bow upgrading to a Ranger of Gondor.

This ends our current campaign for now. As per our next Game night I hope to have finished my brothers warband of Easterlings to start a new adventure

Saw this on IG, loved it then and I love it now. Especially with the added Context! Looks like a lot of fun, and the work you've put into the board looks phenomenal

Glad you were able to get in some games, hope you can keep playing more! :D

Thank you both very much. There will be more games for sure :)

I based the bases with Rhinox hide and topped them with the Technical paint Agrellan Earth.

Grrr, Imrahil

Does Agrellan Earth naturally do the cracking effect? Or did you do that?

It would be ideal for the bases of my upcoming Chaos Dwarf painting project...
