Took my Seraphon out to play today and got smashed
I played two 1000 point games in what was a fairly full game day at my local Warhammer store, first game was against Slaanesh and the second was against Stormcast.
I'll start with the second game that was very disappointing from my perspective in terms of how I lost it. It was against someone who was similarly inexperienced like myself but from off I set myself up for failure. He had a one drop deployment and I had 4. I think I did better than I had in the past with my deployment but I put my Carno square up against his Yndrasta who is a monster slayer and then I followed up the decision by moving towards it. They were tied up for a couple of turns until his Fulminators arrived to clean things up. I wasted my Raptadons charging them up the board in the second turn to their demise, in what was a really poor and pointless decision. Their target was a unit of Vindictors and a Storm.... Chariot, splitting attacks between them and not really doing much to either only downing two Vindictors.
Poor decision making really cost me in this one.
As for the first match I was up against a very good list played by one of the more experienced players and she smashed me, I could barely land a blow killing just 3 of the 44 models on the board whilst being tabled by the end. The scores where actually somewhat close which was quite funny but the best thing that has ever happened in a game took place.
She had 20 demonetts charge, Syll esska already in combat pinning me and then she charged my carno with a Vice Leader who gets Strike first on the charge and also gets to fight along side the demonetts. So my opponent would've been able to attack with all 3 before I could do anything. In a moment of brilliance my Carno decided that wasn't fair in in one bite said "no!" rolling a 6 on gargantuan jaws and eating the 5 wound Vice Leader up
Not only disrupting the entire sequence but removing a buff from Syll esska who requires equal number of Deamon and mortal units.
The Carno was slain swiftly afterwards by Syll esska but that moment lives on
All in all a very enjoyable day
