Because he is the funniest character in what is already a super funny set of movies. I knew nothing about even his existence prior to the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but the character has completely won me over.

Film - it was a funny Dreamworks film released in 2006. You should watch it - I think it's pretty funny and well-acted.
