AoS Let's talk about nerfs and buffs from 3.0

Did the Engine of the Gods pick up the priest keyword when they FAQed there was a priest on it that was the actual character? I don't have the app on this device to check. Could be fun to use it to fire off curse.
Sadly no. I wouldn't be too surprised to see it added to all our priest, since it actually matters now. But, who knows.

Battleplans that use Terrain Pieces as objectives will be a pretty good buff to the RSE. Being able to shoot MWs at units on objectives will be very impactful when it comes up.

Skinks can still get to a 4+ save. Their Shield changes their save characteristics to a 5+. It doesn' give them +1 to save rolls.
Sorry my man, but unless the app is wrong (super possible since it's got some problems) the Warscroll says to add 1 to save rolls. Don't have my book with me at work, so I can't verify that that is the way it is printed.
Also, don't forget that unit leaders can issue commands to the unit they are part of. Meaning your Skink Alpha can give all out attack to their own unit, ect.

Parting Shot will be pretty nice not having to require a hero nearby to use it.

Celestial Conjuration
Comet's Call
Stellar Tempest (or Celestial Equilibrium, a personal favorite of mine)
New Mystic Shield

What's celestial conjuration? There's no such word in Coalesced language.

Please, don't give me hope anymore.

It seems the "Mysterious" terrain rules have reverted back to only the original six types. I reckon this is a little soft buff to Coalesced and Primeval Domain

It always been like this. Additional table is from GHB.

Nope, EotG is ridden by an imposter priest. He never chanted a prayer in his life.

Sadness, all the other shields work that way :( I hate the almost universal rules....

Do we know all the universal spells yet? I'm wondering if there will be any that are good for an extra spell for a Slann.

There's a slim chance it will be Errata'd, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Unless GHB brings more of them, all are in Corebook already. The only useful one is ghostmist to create additional LoS, but in the world of Lumineth I think, 5+ ward is a better investment.

Bastiladons counting as 5 models on objectives is actually a never nice buff. They are very hard to move off an objective and we will be seeing a lot more minimum sized units so those teleporting back line objective takers will probably only be in a group of 5. Killing one model means we take the objective. Monsters charging on to objective will be a real thing too.

I hope they take a look at the Dread Saurian counting as many models as a Mega Gargant, since she has about as many or more wounds, a bigger base, and is a monster.

That spell shrug being turned into a Ward would be nice too, though I won't say no to it sticking around and just being better.

Speaking of the base, how wide is it again? Is it enough to zone out an entire objective?

That would be great, but SoB has enough feelsbad going on for them that I would be sad to see their unique rules made more accessible to others.

The Battlepacks are going to take some getting used to. The first one coming in the GHB is basically Battlepack Ghur for this year right?

The two other Battalions it opens up are interesting, as is the spell. I don't know why you would want to give a hero the monster keyword of the top of my head, other than the monstrous actions.
The movement of monsters, even D6, could be useful.

Unfortunately parting shot specifies "fangs of sotek hero" so would require a fangs of sotek hero to use.

Unless it gets faq'd or changed.

I'm not a betting man, but I bet that a lot of CA wording is going to change to be usable by all the units that can.

Lol, Dread Saurian giving Parting Shot to some skinks.

If only he had 4 casts per turn, which are worth casting.
Nonsense you can make due with a slann casting only buffs. I did it for the past year

My base is 11.5×8.5 it's about the size of standard notebook sheet. I feel if I make it out of here without a points change it is a total Win. I would prefer that I'd get like a 5+ fnp if they give me a points increase to make it a little more reasonable for my overpriced ass

Have not read the whole thread, however:

The more i read the rules, the more I'm convinced that staking effect is one of the trickiest part.

things as to hit and to wound cannot exceed +1 or -1, but you can stack 2 sources of +1 to hit, to overcome a malus.
(source: page 4, bottom left: "some dice rolls, such as hit and wound rolls, will specify that the roll cannot be modified by more than +1 or -1. When this is the case, add up all the modifiers that apply, and if the total is more than +1 or -1, treat it as being either +1 or -1 as appropriate."

so, if your stegadon chief is charging something that gives a -1 to hit, makes sense to use a Their Finest Hour (heroic action) combined with All out attack (Command Ability).

by this reasoning, the same can be said for bonuses to saves.
A save roll cannot be modified by more than +1, but can be modified by more than -1.
If i stack bonuses to have a +2 to saves (Their finest hour + All out defence), i will only have a max +1
However, rend modifies my save roll.
If i have a +1 save, a rend -3 will impose a -2 to my save.
but if i have a +2 to save, a rend -3 will impose just a -1

Stacking different sources of the same bonus, even to things that cannot go over +1 / -1, is going to be crucial.

and if you already have a unit with a in-built +1 save (skinks with shields), then it will be easy to negate a -2 rend

yep the problem is it is now much much harder to stack some of the buffs but if you can do so it goes a long way to curb the over abundance of things like rend.

The Saurus Eternity Warden may have some use after all with the new 5+ ward artefact, standing next to Kroak and getting a couple og sources of healing (heroic action+spell).
