Somehow I missed this. :oops: If it is not too late, my vote goes for Ushabti (because I want to see some painted Ushabti :)). If you are painting an army to field, then that could change things.

Those look really good. Some of your best work. What colours/techniques did you employ to achieve the bone sections?

Literally army painter bone primer then Vallejo sepia wash.

Edit: this is an army, but more fun then competitive. Ushabti has a vote and sphinxes have a vote.

:( Old tomb guard are the best tomb guard. Not that I don't like the new guys, but the new guys sun crest has always felt wierd

I think both sculpts are nice, but I admittedly prefer the new ones better. They have such awesome shields.
 
What bothers me about all the old skeleton models is their huge bones.

They were trying to make them equally representable next to things like Empire Spearman and Chaos Warriors
