Holland: some facts: * legal weed. * We follow Americans * Amsterdam is our capital city (no it's not a country) * We have islands next to America (H) * We were one of the last countries having slaves and extentions (Suriname) CHEERS!
Apparently there are other reasons to visit as well...? I applaud it and think its about time the rest of the world followed. I won't state any reasons because I don't want to derail the thread, and I am sure everyone is familiar with the debate anyway. However, on topic, I am genuinely interested in what good places to visit in Holland are, since I am hoping to travel to Europe again soonish.
Well now sir Strewart, Amsterdam and Rotterdam are probably the cities you really must have seen. We also have a small city called 'madurodam' which is pretty cool to visit (google it) (it's in The Hague). The port of rotterdam is a very impressive sight, and there are good tours to see it (long and short ones). The Euromast (pretty much a big tower) offers a great view over the city. After having done these 2 things (at least, that is) I'd suggest you grab something to eat and start making your way to our capital city. Let's make this epic: The true glory of The Netherlands is found here. With beautifull old buildings and squares (known as 'De Dam'), lots of history and other..private places. The Anne Frank house is here, which I highly recommend. It is sure to leave a big impression. Maddame Tussauds if you like it (and can afford it) Several museums by some great masters; lets say....Van Gogh and uuhm lets pick Rembrandt too . The Royal Palace. The canals. There are some good tours, which teaches you a lot about Amsterdam and The Netherlands. The games-workshop, which is situated pretty much in the center of the city. I know, I know...it could be more epic..but that would derail this entire post. And well, just go to anne frank. That is one thing you absolutely need to do when you're there. Search/find something you like while you're on the go; that's what usually works best for me. If you have any questions, pm/mail me. I could tell you a whole lot more of stuff to do while in Holland, but I'm guessing you'll ask if you want to know that, you're a big boy after all.. Oh yes, in case you didn't notice: I'm Dutch too.
