    My point exactly.
If it sounds like I'm trying t rain on people's parades, then sorry. But if you look at what I was saying, my motivation is that I don't want people to feel disappointed. That is literally all. If I'm proven wrong, I'd be pleasantly surprised! (big part of why I tend towards pessimism. ) Again, speculation is plenty fun, and I've done my share in the last few days. But a voice of caution is warranted in a public forum, and shouldn't be stomped on either. And I agree, the time IS ripe, and was ripe years ago, even, and at this point, it's like they forgot us. OR, they know the thing to do is a thorough revamp of the line, invalidating a lot of old models. But such an undertaking pushes back the time table even further. For example, time was ripe for the elves for a long time, and look at those model ranges they finally got in the span of 2 years.

I'm now fantasizing about how they might completely transform the Seraphon model range in the distant future. I even want to do fan art to try my hand on what AOS 2.0 style Seraphon might look like. But like an old and inscrutable Slann, I'm looking at all this from the long view.

It is similar, bit it's also very distinct from the TW design. I find those particular instances of Suaras amazing and much more beastial than what we have. The neck structure and overall body design is more "bulky snake-lizard" than what's seen on the cover though. He, and by gods is he beautiful, is more humanoid with lizard like features and a barrel chest.

Either way, it's far enough from what we have seen to be quite a hype generator in and of itself.

I'm more curious to see how GW would update the Saurus and rest of the Seraphon in the way they've done it with High Elves. Basing a new line of Seraphon on TW designs would be going to something that was inspired by you for inspiration. I'd rather they blaze new territory and surprise us with some bold new looks. Something that GW does very well. Bone Reapers, Lumineth, Idoneth, even Kharadron all to varying degrees have very bold and surprising new themes and miniatures technology that throw the gauntlet down on other companies, saying "catch up." I'd love that treatment for Seraphon.

honestly, I would prefer by a wide margin they would stick with an already well received design than trying bold hit-and-miss things (like those futuristic lizardmen-necron conversions for example) and relegating the experiments to something separate (slann in blackstone fortress?)

Ugh, Lizardmen-Necrons? Rick Sanchez already explained to us how that would be bad design! Lol.

Wow what a thread - took me a while to get through it all.. You guys are insane :)
Anyways - finally got around to finding out of Seraphon Warcry.

TBH I am not really excited about this.

First off - Warcry uses single models/heros and IMO - Seraphon look amazing on the field in large groups but when you have single models they look very average (not taking into consideration our big beasties)
Like what are get going to get: Guards? Warriors? Kroxigors? Skinks? Razordons/Sallies?
Non of these models look great individually (perhaps skinks?) so for a low model count game where each model is an individual... they going to look out of place compared to other factions. Sure you can go for high paint standards.. but end of the day the models are not the greatest. Even Skaven which are older models still have better sculpts that we do - more more character. Just have to look at our Seraphon Warriors vs Skaven Clanrats.. our warriors are so static.. zero variety on the kit.. where Clanrats (which is the lowest of lows) have a fair bit more posses.

Warcry gameplay - I was really excited when this was announced... then I finally got to watch it being played numerous times near home.
Very disappointed - game took much long to set up terrain.. pull cards.. etc than actual game. The rules are extremely light!
I will pick the warcry cards.. but can say I am excited for it.

If it wasn't for Slanns or Large beasties - doubt I would have chosen Seraphon as my main army.

a chance to play with thematic rules for people who like the normal models AND a chance to play with thematic rules for people who can convert a small warband using blood bowl lizards and more, where such conversions wouldn't be viable for a whole army.

as long as we keep the Mesoamerican influences strong in future designs, I'm all for it. I love dinos riding dinos, but what I like best is the MA aesthetic. If that ever gets dropped, I'm probably done buying new minis and will just buy out the last of the line with MA design.

Just remembered another reason to look forward to the BT: the potential for new art & photos of Seraphon amidst Mesoamerican-like terrain!!

I'm hoping they show them defending a crashed temple ship/Seraphon city instead of just sticking them in the jungle! It's been a while since I've seen "official" Lizardmen terrain.

Haven't you noticed? Everyone is cracking around the edges. Its nearly time.

We shall break from the eggs that hold us, confine us. And GW will not know what it hath unleashed upon the unsuspecting meta.

the equivalent of 40k imperial knights for aos: a faction of giants, rumour engines point to a kit for their notewhorty leader, king brodd, who uses the pillar of a temple as weapon
    and to some other options
