Why do you say that? Your work is amazing! I'll chalk it up to cold-blooded modesty!

Again thanks for the kind words, could be modesty, but when I look at my models I always feel like they could be better finished off, cleaner looking if that makes sense?

I'm going to try and improve on my edge highlighting, I think it's that my models are missing, time will tell!

Ok guys had another go at the bassy, I wanted it to look battle worn but also like it was a powerful opponent, dry brushed only.

Wow, Crowsfoot! That looks amazing! You're doing a great job! I agree with you, it did need another go of drybrushing with a lighter color, and it worked! Simply stunning. I also love the red-orange look on his back! That's not a color scheme that you usually see on Bassy's. I have another one that I'm going to (try to) get started soon. I'll be making the Arc one, but I was thinking of going with a very dark scheme. We'll see. Anyway, I love seeing your work! Spiderman! :spiderman:

    Ok here goes,
First I painted the skin eshin grey then I did the outer scales in mephiston red, next scales adjacent to the outer ones evil sun scarlet, then troll slayer orange then back to evil sun and then mephiston on the ridge, the tail was based mephiston then troll slayer orange then averland sunset, wash the whole model in agrax earthshade.

Take dawnstone and using a medium size dry brush highlight all the skin once dry take white scar and a small dry brush and highlight the knees, ankles, chin and forhead.

Take troll slayer orange and dry brush all the scales, might need few coats, I wanted it to look dirty so left shading were I could, next take yriel yellow and brybrush the full tail and the scales on the mephiston red ones, try to lighten your brush strokes as you move up the model, next take flash git yellow and do the tail paying more attention to the horns same with the ridge horns and the edges and its head again lighten your strokes as you reach were yriel yellow ends, you want to leave an edge between each shade.

Next take sreaming skull and with a small dry brush hit all the ends of the outer scales and horns, then do a final dry brush right on the ends with white scar.

Take waywatcher green glaze and apply to his legs and belly.

Claws, base with zandri dust then add a layer of screaming skull leaving some zandri dust showing, when dry apply white scar right on the tips, when that is dry take dryad bark water it down about 7/1 and take a small detail brush and apply at the meeting point of claw and toe.

Teeth exactly the same but I paint all the mouth with a mix of mephiston red and black, then do the tongue bugmans flesh, when you apply zandri dust on the teeth try to leave a bit of red to act as a gumline.

I'm not sure about the crystal it looks too bulky if that makes sense? But I'm feeling more confident with every model I finish

White scar as a base water it down slightly, then depending on colour so lets say yellow paint it all with a dark yellow then take your finest brush and put a bit of bright yellow at the front, water down some black and draw a line for the pupil, then take a brown wash with your finest brush and add it sround the edges to try and clean the shape up.

My eyes need work but I have ordered a new brush ;)

I've found a good Micron pen works amazingly well! It's just a simple black line!

Forgot about those pens, are they technical drawing pens, used to have one years ago, think it was a rotring?

Gonna get one it was so easy to do eyes with.

@Chicken Lips can you give detals on the pen you use?

    Absolutely!
I usually use the 005 pen, but it's a really great set to have! You can buy them at Hobby Lobby or any major craft store. They have felt tips so that they won't slip or scar your model.

You can kinda see some of my Skink eyes here:
