Blog Return of the Ancient Painter: Troggoths added

These look amazing! The paint scheme is very pleasing to the eye and give nice look to the army.
Can I ask you how do you make the blue-grey complexion ad what materials do you use for basing? The skin looks very natural, and the basing is effective without being baroque.

I would love to see a pic of the whole army!

Thanks, this scheme is my second army not massive but slowly getting bigger and a picture will be up soon.

The blue/grey is done by

Celestra grey base, Drakenhoff shade and then highlighted with Ulthuan grey, followed with a spot highlight of White scar.

The bases are pva glue then sand, Rhinox hide base then drybrushed Ushabti bone then Screaming skull just on the edges, then I use grass tuffs, wild grass, white and purple flowers and green crops all from tajima1 on ebay.

I love that by the time I finish my Steg, you will have your army done an it will look awesome!.))

I really love your army theme in general, but even more so on this model. It just works perfectly. The yellow alongside the purple is very nice.
Good old complimentary colours, the one thing I took from Secondary School art!

Your models are of course, utterly incredible! I also really like the fact you’ve used a colour scheme from the battletome - there are so many cool ones but unfortunately you rarely see them, as most people tend to use the normal scheme or make up there own. That’s perfectly fine of course, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’d love to see armies of groups like Tlazcotl’s Gaze and other groups like that

Thanks, I am tempted to start another Seraphon army next year :D

You're already got a beautiful one... time to enter the Tomb Kings fray. I would love to see what you could do with them.

I might take you up on that, In fact why not send me some of your stuff and I will do my best and then send them back, I’ll pay postage back.
