8th Ed. salamander hunting pack unit

Will I'm going to try a big unit of Razordons with Hand of Glory and see how it goes. In fact my plan when I get the new custom dice is to go crazy with Salamanders and Razordon so I can use the dice a lot.
 
Hand of Glory seems to be tailor made for Razordons. No other unit seems to benefit so well from each of the 4 buffs the spell provides. I think to take full advantage of the spell the unit should be at least 5-6 strong.


How many people have ever tried a Razordon unit of 7 or more? How does everyone rate Razordons vs. Ancient Stegs? What do you invest your rare points in?
 
I've got a unit of 8 in my planned 2500pt list, but need to wait for friends to get past the 1500pt stage (where I am running 5 with a fair amount of success). Planning to also give my slann or a disposable skink chief the Horn of Kygor for a bundle of extra S5 attacks when I need it most that cannot be dispelled.

That is an impressive unit. I think many units would be hesitant to charge a unit like that. I must have a really large footprint. Never really considered the horn of Kygor... could be interesting.
