"I'll tell you how were gonna get outta that damned jungle alive. See, the lizards are bloody good at fighting close up, there thick hides are pretty effective too...." Revered_Guardian smiled and pulled out his 2 pistols. "But ya see, what Ive found is that these here blackpowder weaponsget the job done. I don't care if its 3 feet taller then me, these little things take em down!" With that, Revered_Guardian sauntered off towards the crews den...he was very sleepy all of a sudden.
Lukas watched silently as Reverend_Guardian as he went to his quaters. He seemed slightly suspicious, but hey, anyone could be suspicious in the right circumstances. Lukas got up slowly and walked back to the bar and watched as the other men slowly wandered away to bed. Colthan was explaining away his leg scar when Lukas walked in. he decided to speak up and make himself known, "Did hat Lizardman hit you with their jagged swords? Or with one of their weird halberds?" He then drank a small shot of brandy. "I assume the sword because you still have the leg."
Argh! I be a bit uneasy. I'm a pirate! Argh! Correction, I'm a tired pirate. Correction, I'm a tired pirate who is going to sleep in the crow's nest. Argh! I be look out! No land in sight! Who be cap'n anyway?!?
So a merry and spirited day 2 of the trip comes to an end to a crimson sunset. A freak gust of wind comes across the ship as hellbreaker is walking on the deck as the sun is setting, it throws him against the rails and as stars burst from his confused vision he realises he has slipped off the ship and into the sea. The crew spot him but they are unable to recover him before the waves and sea drag him under. The shocked and suddenly silenced crew slowly turn away from the back of the ship, only to see that in the confusion a moment of opportunity has been taken advantage of while everyone is distracted! The body of KroxigorsFTW is spotted hanging from the mast by a giant fishing hook, murdered by one of the crew. Distrust immediately breaks out among all on the ship as it silently sails into the night toward Lustria. Day 3! The Lybithian The Hunted Craken Xlcontiqu hellbreaker - killed by the elements day 2 lizardninja Eternity_Warden crimsontide Revered_Guardian Dreadgrass KroxigorsFTW - assassinated day 2 SaurusWarrior This day will finish 4 days from now, probably more like 3.5, on friday.
Ronan moved over to the hanging body and began to search for any clues he could find, he checked the angles of the ropes and the hook in the body. He searched in silence, not really sharing his thought with anyone. He looked to Hunted and spoke "I think your stories just got more content..." he sighed and moved to the side of the boat once more pondering the death.
"What the hell...in two seconds we just lsot 2 of the finest crew members of the ship!" Revered_Guardian collapsed.... "It's like lustria...it's like the first voyage all over again!!!"
The Hunted felt depressive, not only did they lose 2 of their crew; but Craken pointed a finger towards him. Both equally hurt. "I have no more stories to tell" he said, "And no more juggling", as he tossed all his knives overboard. The Hunted
Seeing the emminent panic in the crews faces, Dreadgrass steps in, he points to 3 of the crew, "you, you and you, get the poor bugger down and take him below... as for the rest of you lazy Jacks!" he continues sweeping his eyes around the deck, "GET BACK TO WORK! SO HELP ME I WILL PERSONALLY PLANT MY HOBNAILED TOE UP THE BUTTOCKS OF THE NEXT MAN I SEE NOT HARD AT IT!!" As the sailors headed back to their tasks, their fear of a knife in the dark momentarily forgotten in their fear of the huge marine, he turned to the passengers. "Your pardon gents, couldn't let the panic set in, gotta keep the boys moving or else they'll sit and stew, and believe me, the last thing the captain'll want is a bunch of sailors working their fears into a lather..." His toe knocked against something and he looked down to see Kroxigor_FTW's spiked mace, picking it up sadly he mutters under his breath "When we find the blighters responsible for your death, I reckon we'll also find a use for this..."
Lukas had been parinoid before, but nothing had put him more parinoid than the death of two crewmen in one night. Kroxigor had been brutely murdered. Lukas shifted nervously as he pulled out the one thing left from his knighthood. His trusted claymore. The weapon was forged from the finest steel in the Empire, as a special order. But that was the glory days. He shifted it in his grip. Then he practised in the mess hall while the hall was empty from shock. No assassain would sneak up easily. Then he moved up to Rohann as he was inspecting things. "Hello, I watched you inspect the bodies earlier. Did you learn anything? This is something that has shaken up everyone and I hope you find the one responsible. And when you do, can I join the fun?" He pulled out the claymore from across his back. The sunlight shining off the honed blade. "This ought to help with making a fine mess of the traitorous, murdering, jack who did this." Lukas then stared off across the sea as he sheathed the blade, then he slammed his hand down on the railing in anger. No one deserved that kind of death. No one.
OOC: Wow KroxigorsFTW, this must suck for you... you've been killed at the beginning two games in a row! Sensing the somber atmosphere as he awoke from his nap, Eternity Warden discreetly asked Dreadgrass what had occurred during the night. Depressed by what he learned, he leaned against the mast and sawed out a mournful lament for his two comrades on his fiddle. It was a beautifully melancholy tune, but he disliked playing it since he only did so in dark moments such as this. His morning thoroughly rained upon, Eternity Warden made a mental note to stay far away from the side of the ship when there was a strong wind.
Looks to Lukas "I may have something but as of yet nothing solid, so I'd prefer to keep my thoughts to myself. But when comes the time to bring someone to justice, I may be calling on your sword to punish the guilty." He looks at the soldier and forces a half grin.
"Thank you, and at least someone has something. hopefully we can find this murderer soon before one of us become his next victimn. and when the time comes, I hope my sword will be of great use to you and justice." Lukas then looked back to the sea, contemplating about who could have commited this atrocious murder. Eternity Warden was playing all the while, the sad tune filling the air. But his frustration soon turned to an idea. A giant fishing hook used as a weapon, though brutal and somewhat simple, requires a bit of skill to use, and a great deal of time and patince to set a trap. Perhaps a trap had been set for someone else. Unlikely though. He continued pondering his thoughts as returened to beneath the stair well. He drank a small bit of special brandy in rememberance of Kroxigor, then with chisel, he brought out a metal plate with the names of fallen comrades and chiseled Kroxigor's name into it. As he did this, he whispered softly to himself, "The fallen shall be forever remembered." When he had finished, he returned to the mess hall, he discovered the place full of rumors of the murder. Especially about the one who commited it. Some said Ronan, others said Dreadgrass, here was even one about Eternity Warden. but who was right? Lukas couldn't say yet, but the truth should be revieled soon, with luck anyways.
Xlcontiqu walked up to SaurusWarrior and put his arm on his shoulder. ""Tis a grave day to be sure," he said forlornly. The death of two of his crewmates was already weighing heavily on his shoulders. They needed everyone they had to be able get into Lustria safely. "This does not sit well with me," said Xlcontiqu. "We need as many able-bodied people as we can. The sooner we find the killer, the better," he finished. He walked to the bow off the boat and looked off into the distance, lost in his thoughts.
Xlcontiqu had been right, we'd need the help of the entire crew to get to Lustria alive. He started to worry though, "What if my idea doesn't work, what if we execute the wrong man? No matter, this needs to be done." He thought silently. Then he went to the mess hall, and started to gather everyone on board to the ship together. When anyone who'd come had assembled, he spoke out, "Thank you for coming everyone. I assume we all have seen poor Kroxigor by now. We all probably have theories about what happened too. The murderer needs to be caught, and I suspect it's one of us in this very room." Lukas let his words sink in. "I propose that we all put foward any clues we have, even the most insignifigant ones so that we can put them together and try to apprehend the culprit. And I'm sure all of us can agree, this needs to be done quick so that we don't get another victimn on our hands." He paced the mess hall quietly. "I guess I will start. Earlier, while talking to Ronan, Dreadgrass had almost immediately started barking out orders almost immediatly. While this may be his duty, but from where I am from, the eastern side of the Empire, killers usually do their best to distract people by handing out work and yelling at people to distract them while they select their next victimn in the crowd. One death attracts a crowd, a crowd attacts death and so repeats the cycle. And yes, it may take a simpleton to be so easily distracted, but it worked there, why not on a ship ful of sailors trained to do exactly that?" He looked at Dreadgrass. "I'm not saying you are the guilty one Dreadgrass, but I say you might be it. For now of course, my evidence is only circumstansial at best."
"A valid point, friend." Sitting at the table, Revered Guardian adressed the rest of the crew. "First of all, did anyone manage to catch, even a glimpse, of the killer? Or anyone looking suspicious before or after the murder?"
"hmmm valid points, but I do not believe that is correct." he speaks up amongst the group. "Deadgrass in my opinion is just doing his best to cope with the situation. He is not a killer." He looks around the group and waits for silence. "My searching has yet to reveal any solid clues on the killer, however, if there is blame to be about there is one who seems to have a guilty conscience. Look at the once talkative Hunted, he is all but silent now and once more he may have got rid of some powerful evidence throwing his loved knives overboard. Maybe he didn't kill KroxigorFTW but has anybody though if hellbreaker had some help "falling overboard"? If it comes to a vote. I vote for him." Vote: Hunted
Good point Ronan. He truely might be the guility one. But for now, until proven otherwise, I'll agree with you Ronan. Vote: Hunted
"Sorry lad, But thats the best lead we have...And I am going to follow it to the end of the earth!" Vote: The Hunted
"Can't say as I'm sure on your option there, but I guess I've got to explain myself." Dreadgrass says from his seat, he quiets the marines he sits with, who were angrily murmuring at the suggestion of his guilt. "I'm signed onto this ship as a marine, if we're attacked by pirates or chaos scum, I'm one of the first across the decks." he hefts his iron bound staff, "Breakin' heads and keeping order is part of the deal, I felt a passengers body, suspended on a hook in the center of the deck was panicing the crew, the thought of being trapped on ship with a potential murderer is quite terrifying for most, so I ordered the removal of the body and got the crew moving again. I've found the best cure for fear and panic is to give them something to do and the threat of a boot in the backside!" he looks around the assembled men, some scared, some thoughtful, some hard to read. "I thank you, master Craken, for your faith in me, We'll be keeping an eye on y'all" he continued, gesturing to the burly men who make up the ships marines "but keep an extra sharp eye out yerselves, theres really no telling who the killer is till we've got him pinned."
