Blog Slannta's Workshop

Its cool @Crowsfoot I know your trying to help and I am lost to an extent but my new job stability is going to help me sift through them all now :) I got lost when I ordered afew joblot armies and forgot to update my lists so drowned in the -"aaaah I don't know what I have where" stage but now I'm listing them again as a count so I can figure out what I need to do. Sorry if anything I said came across as rude to you I don't want to upset anyone on this forum everyone's so nice and its the only forum on the internet I belong its my first one too if anyone recalls me saying :D.

I'll post my next 2 shelf counts sometime soon just for my own reference if it infuriates anyone that I'm just counting them up at this stage sorry.
 
Impulse purchased 46 post-it-note holders to use as scenery - they actually work really well as a multi story housing unit for my Lizardmen - I'll have to show you sometime :) they were 10p each - I need to make them more aztecy or mayan but they already have a feel to them that I like. also though they looked like fantastic scenery for sci fi towers too.

Top is 3 forgeworld Slann
then 5 kroaks then 2 old slann on pigmy slaves a warmaster one on floating palanquin 3 starmasters 2 more warmaster of the other variety and a kroak :P
then 5 Starmaster (the middle primed one is who I'm going to paint first - may the Old ones look favourably upon his fate) then a Starmaster on palanquin off to the side and behind is like 6 5th age Slann :P and elsewhere parked are like 9-12 palanquins xd
 
Your Slann inspire me to make several more, and make a suitable place for them to convene their councils upon.

Something like this picture, except minus the meteors and general carnage.

So I haven't got around to painting yet will do some later while watching a film spent a good part of yesterday putting the Lizardmen I don't want anymore onto a table to sell - here is the result ignore the extremely tidy room in the background:

My first stab at painting has begun :) the paint is really nice and shinny which is pleasing for the eye but bad for pictures in the light conditions I have I think - C & C welcome-

Progress on my first Slann painting I need to revisit the jewellery at some point maybe I need a magnifying glass or better light a nice desk lamp might help - its still a grey a lot of this guys colour scheme is dark and stone jewellery seemed like an okay idea ill need to do more to it though.

This is my steg progress - I really don't do the paints justice but I'm using my paints from Privateer press Hordes Circle Orboros colors :)

I went abit heavy on the steg's skin i'm not finished I take breaks from painting one bit and start on the next section of the model before finishing because I'm crazy mad :P

Made some green stuff snakes out of what I had spare from my main project :P

the cobra I'm proud of the other 2 snakes I made are shamefuly misformed

The idea behind this one was that he'd have a lump in his belly from eating something :P A concept I have an idea of how to improve in the future.

And then you can see glimpses of my main project above:

These will form a mini pyramid palanquin for one of my Slann - all going well :D
 
So my main project is a 'large' pyramid I have that I'm going to put magnetised triangle segments on it has 4 sides with 9 triangles on each -

Here is the concept I drew out the temple city icons in sets of 3 and the idea is that they rotate to form the icon of some of the major cities - I only have 12 planned for now but might do the rest since I plan to have them as a changeable component.

I've attempt to do one side so far free hand to see how it will turn out I used some aides to make the markings though - here are the drawings so you get what I'm on about hopefully.

Moon City - forgot to rub out the outer line for the mouth type section - which translated into errors when doing this design in green stuff :P

Destiny city symbol - same problem here my drawing lead to errors in making and isn't the best :P also I drew these after cutting the triangles xd

So here are my green stuff triangles drying I separated them abit so they didn't stick together.

The sun city symbols are easy to see here the rest are a bit faded I didn't press to hard on the others. I'm hoping they fit back well together when they are cured :)
 
Here are my other pairings (pairing for 3? groupings I guess - we'll go with groupings -here are my groupings) of temple city icons - only in drawing form at the moment.

these 3 went together well because of their shapes :)
 
So I drew the first section of these temple cities before cutting them out because 3rd time around it seemed less of a struggle doing It this way first
