The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

I am less optimistic. There is a thing called the Overton Window and it is always moving left.



Based on historical trends in American politics, I believe the so called TERFs are going to join the Republican party. The Republicans are going to pat themselves on the back for defeating the Democrats, but they are going to going to adopt 1990s brand feminism that they once opposed.

Then in 2050, they are going to adopt contemporary 2020s Leftist politics in order to get the numbers to oppose whatever unthinkable thing in 2050 is threatening to become mainstream at which point it will be normal in 2080, assuming Western civilization doesn't collapse by then.

 

I guess I pulled it from Wikipedia and they want to avoid offending the Left so they made it talk about "more freedom
and "less freedom". But usually the Overton window refers to the Left-Right divide.

That said, I think the Left-Right divide is pretty flawed, I prefer the political triangle between freedom, order, and equity. To get more freedom, you have to give up a little order and equity and so on and so forth.

The Overton window is way on the equity region of the triangle because the Left values equity above the other two and the Right is split between Libertarians who value freedom, religious conservatives who value equity, and the authoritarian right who values Order.

In addition to the triangle, there is a quandrant theory with four quandrants where you have a Libertarian Right, Libertarian Left, Authoritarian Left, and Authoritarian Right.

The further you go left, the more socially liberal you are. The further you go right the more socially conservative you are.

The further you go down, the more people prefer smaller government, the further you go up, the more people prefer bigger government.

Of course, another theory is that 50-80% really don't care what kind of government they have and will go along with whatever those in power say. Only a minority of people are willing to fight or sacrifice for what they believe in, and this minority doesn't agree on what goals to fight for or what tactics to fight with, so these people are always duking it out while the masses blindly obey whoever is currently on top of the heap.

Unless submitting to the government is certain death, then the masses will fight for change, but only when the pain of inaction is greater than the pain of action.

The problem is the Libertarian Left is so small it barely exists at all so essentially if you plot real human beings political aspirations, it looks like a triangle.

 

Another thing we have learned about the woke tactic, is that you will never be enough woke, and you can be devoured by someone more "inclusive" than you.
I have no interest in it, but i could play that game too.

like:
"Yeah kathleen kennedy, you're so brave with your force is female. Good try, but i've looked at Rey, and you know what i see? a perfect, beautiful woman. Not an ounce of fat, your heroine is agile and athletic. I didn't expect you to be so much into body shaming. You must be really proud of embarassing millions of girls".

or:
"Brokeback mountain. i suppose i should praise you for telling the story of a gay love. And nonetheless, you had to tell a men's story, don't you? Because of course lesbians are not entitled to love!"

I don't believe Disney can make anything good anymore, at least till 2030 assuming there is some corrective action taken.

I think Clownfish TV has good insights but they are very much NOT succinct but they did say something insightful.

Disney can afford to lose money on bad media because half their revenue comes from their theme parks and resorts and these are cash cows.

I will an addendum that Amazon Prime can afford to lose money because they have the cash cow of Amazon shipping to feed them. I think Jeff Bezo's expected Rings of Power to lose a little money or barely break even and was okay with this. It's like when a town or city hosts a local festival that charges money but they don't charge a lot of money because the town is paying part of the expenses out of civic pride. Technically they are hosted by a city, not a nation and in every case the city spends more money than they receive in extra tourism dollars.
So I think Bezos was willing eat a small loss, but I don't think he expected Rings of Power to lose lots of money which is what I am predicting will happen.

Since AT&T divested from Warner Brothers and Warner Brothers merged with Discovery (another media company), they cannot afford to lose money. Note that Warner/Discovery is at least trying to take corrective measures.
