Blog The Return of the Slann

agreed, they could usa a bit more off white around the base end.

Great suggestions. I'll hopefully be finishing the army this weekend and will have a few days to experiment. Thanks!

Well, with 1 day left to spare, I'm finally done:

I won't have time to fix up the horns because now I have to start packing for my move I've been neglecting! I hope to get a better photo when I have some sunlight / free time again.

Up next (after the move and remodel work):

Carnosaur!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for looking,

Div

Looks great, glad you got finished in time, :)

Finally took some pics of the second completed Saurus block:

I've started to go back and clean up stuff now that I have some free time on my hands. More to come soon!

Verry kool I can see why this took a while. :D

Very nice looking unit! Great work.

The crests in particular look great. Good blending all over, too. What are the stone ruins made of?

beautiful stuff man, i like the look, and they fit really well together, as well as your slann looking absolutely incredible :D

Thanks everyone for the compliments!

@ Old Mossy - The stones are cork tiles cut up.

@ Saurus - Thanks dude! I love my slann as well =).

I've been updating things on the lizards so I thought I'd share. First off, I added more highlights to all of the bases and came up with a color for my spears (instead of plain black). I also went back and redid the horns on the stegadons, one traditional colors and the other still black with some brown added to it. I also added armor to my ancient steg. Here they are!

Well done my friend well done indeed. :smug:

Everything looks gorgeous, love the muted pastel pallet you've chosen. I am inspired to go back to my saurus and bring them up to a lighter highlight, seeing the orange on yours. I'd love your comments once I put up some better photos. BTW, how did your army do at the tournament? That unit of 30 saurus with spears especially...

Sorry for the late response! I was busy training and running this =)

Thanks for the compliments. I've been working on various side projects and not spent much time on anything lizard like at all!

@ T`hinker`er - I'll definitely be checking out your stuff. The army did really well..... 5 wins, 0 losses! The 30 spears are kind of a waste of points (hw&sh is better) but the spears look cool and with mindrazor... well... you know what happens =).

Again, thanks for the compliments and support. Wouldn't have finished the army without it!

Well, it has been some time....

I've been off working on a few projects, most notably these guys:

and then I started working on these dudes

InfernalGuard.jpg

but then I stopped and started working on THESE guys

but I just couldn't NOT come back to my favorite Lustrian warriors. So I present to you my newly painted skinks!

It was a pain in the butt trying to match colors with the new Citadel line (Seriously GW, WHY!? Bleached bone was perfect!!!!) but I think I got it close. Sorry for the crappy picture, the real camera was out of juice.

More to come soon and thanks for looking!

While all your stuff is amazing, this guy:

has just inspired me to completely change the style of my painting on my mordheim warband. Love the cartoon-like effect.

Nice work on those skink's shields. I think the brown and cream really tie the model together. Is there a highlight on the cream shield scales? It's hard to see.

Super good to have you back, then :D
