The Shrine to Lost Armies

I just see a lot of "I'm glad thier not coming back. Muh vampirez iz superiors" from Grand alliance death players
I'm glad they are not coming back as well... but for very different reasons though.

I guess from a Vampire perspective TK not coming back is a good thing. It means that they get more attention, attention which has been rather limited thus far.

Explain your reasons heretic!

Must be why I lost so many tournament games
I know the feeling. My Beastmen always underperformed in Fantasy. At least I got some mileage out of my Ogres, if nothing else. Of course, now both are pretty lacking in support in AoS, which makes me sad ;-; (Well, traditional Ogres are at least).

Well, cold as it is, the fewer Death armies there are to receive GWs attention, the more love the Vampire Count based line of Death is going to get. They do kind of need it, since Death, and the descendants of the Vampire Counts specifically, haven't been receiving all that much attention compared with the other Allegiances. Even Destruction's gotten more support, if you ask me, even if Chaos and Order have left both in the dust.

So if they brought tomb kings back with some updated kits, that wouldn't be a book to all death players?

I love Tomb Kings, but to be honest they were never that popular even in Fantasy. Even when they got a new book and a generous selection of beautiful models, they never reached the popularity of those accursed Vampires. Why would GW release more for AoS?

Simple. I love Tomb Kings. I hate AoS. I am glad that Tomb Kings are somewhat free of AoS. I am even more happy that TK's subservience to AoS will only further diminish over time.

Tomb Kings deserve a better home... we call that home WFB 8th edition!
But that does not garuntee the survival or resurgence of the miniatures line

But the NIGHTBRINGER was a greedy god. He had already secured his complete army. The fall of the line would only make his army more rare and valuable. :D

Anything released for AoS would likely be useless from my perspective (which is WFB). The Tomb Kings had a pretty healthy lineup as is. The only thing missing was some better core skeleton sculpts (which I wouldn't buy anyways because I have a massive amount of them) and a heirotitan (which I also wouldn't buy because I am converting my own). I guess a few new character models would be welcome, assuming that size creep didn't occur.

You lie. You would buy a hierotitan and you know it. Especially if it saved time

How did you make or obtain the scales?
I didn't. One has a spear and shield, the other has a great scythe. Or will, anyway, he's in parts.

I plan to make one with scales once I figure out how I want to do it.

Can I just say I consider all the old metal imperial guard regiments from 40k lost armies?

Excellent green stuff work:

Long Live Bretonnia!

(link)

Indeed - Bretonnia have quite a great potential for a competitive 8th Edition army to be made out of them - there’s all sorts of things a writer of an 8th Ed book could do to make them stronger. Not that Bretonnians were bad in 6th and 7th, just that many of their rules could be improved to make them stronger, e.g. Make the Blessing a 5+ Ward (4+ against Strength 5 or above) rather than a 6+ Ward/5+ against Strength 5 or higher. That would improve knights’ survivability against cannons no end. In fact I’ll take up the challenge of writing one, as soon as I’ve completed all the others already listed in the Great Library.

It helps that I’ve been able to find a website with all the PDFs of every GW Fantasy army book and expansion that was ever made, because I’ve been able to download a PDF version of the Bretonnia army book that I can analyse.

Love those knights - that must have taken some real patience to make so much of them out of Green Stuff...
