    True, GW always followed the "tolkien" concepts of tons of heavily armored dwarfs marching on foot. Then adding cannons and gyrocopters. Some ram cavalry would have been pretty neat; those badger riders are pretty cool!

    It does make for a very thematic take on the Dwarfs but it is also a pain in the backside for Dwarf players like myself. You can imagine our celebrations when Storm of Magic allowed Dwarfs to take monsters as allies!

    True, it does make them very tough to play, as it feels like an uphill battle. Hurrah for the grumbling underdogs!

    In a sense, but against Dwarfs you have to remember that the opposition can't really take monsters either because they blasted off the field.

    True - especially with the ability to take 3 cannons and the improved Organ Gun that only misfires on a double misfire! :p

    Precisely. Besides, overall monsters weren't that effective in 8th edition (with a few exceptions). Too many armies could field cannons... and cannons were simply a hard counter to monsters.

    Disagree, you don't want anyone type of unit to be unplayable in the game, especially the models that are often army centerpieces.

    Cannons should be less accurate... plain and simple. The way they were written in 8th made them laser guided sniper rifles.

    My thoughts exactly. Historically, cannons never possessed pinpoint precision.
