The Shrine to Lost Armies

If only I had 1/2 of that skill

At least you have some - I have no skill with Green Stuff at all! (Partly because I’ve always been too lazy to order some directly from GW’s website, but mostly because I’m not that good at modelling) :p

Indeed - Bretonnia have quite a great potential for a competitive 8th Edition army to be made out of them - there’s all sorts of things a writer of an 8th Ed book could do to make them stronger. Not that Bretonnians were bad in 6th and 7th, just that many of their rules could be improved to make them stronger, e.g. Make the Blessing a 5+ Ward (4+ against Strength 5 or above) rather than a 6+ Ward/5+ against Strength 5 or higher. That would improve knights’ survivability against cannons no end. In fact I’ll take up the challenge of writing one, as soon as I’ve completed all the others already listed in the Great Library.

It helps that I’ve been able to find a website with all the PDFs of every GW Fantasy army book and expansion that was ever made, because I’ve been able to download a PDF version of the Bretonnia army book that I can analyse.

Love those knights - that must have taken some real patience to make so much of them out of Green Stuff...
What website is that?

The Great Library can be accessed from my signature while the army book website is on my favourites on my laptop. Haven’t got my laptop with me at the moment but I’ll post the link when I get the chance
I happen to be on mobile and apparently signiatures are disabled.

Excellent green stuff work:

Where did you find these

Found them randomly on google!

Agreed. I recognize the majority of the bits, but some are unfamiliar, and all spun together with some fantastic green stuff talent. I hope whoever made them give them a paint job to match as they deserve nothing less! :artist:

In dwarfish news, I have a hundred spear dwarfs and 1 each of the crossbowmen and axe dwarfs coming to me from EM4.

I intend to use these as a test bed for an expanded dwarven host.

This is partly due to wanting to convert them, and partly due to mantics semi-unique fluff for dwarfs. In mantica, the dwarves form an empire which is semi reminicerem of the Roman empire. I quite like the idea of this, and am going to run with it

Do you plan to take also the new behemoth (mecha mammoth?) for mantic dwarfs ?

THAT is new :wideyed:

Thanks for pointing this thing out, had no clue they were making this thing! (link)

Looks more chaos-dwarfy than regular-dwarf tech, heresy I say! :bored:

It has been out for quite a while and is certainly an original piece, although it couldn’t really be used as anything in Fantasy sadly as GW were sticklers for making sure Dwarfs didn’t get anything monster-related until Age of Sigmar.

Also I don’t think it is that Chaos Dwarfy - Chaos Dwarf machines and monsters are more daemonic and would have more industrial stuff on them, e.g. pipes and funnels to belch out smoke.

It is a really nice model, just a shame GW didn’t think of it for fantasy (sigh)

There were many possibilities for dwarfs.

For example, the dwarfs runic golem...
