How does one go about doing that without having the greenstuff stick to the plastic bit?

Definitely my true passion project that started when I first began the Hobby, I am picking back up where I left off with my Seraphon's Thunder Lizard (or Thunderdon in my own lore).

The Blessed Skink Seer Itzli-Citlalli, before The-World-That-Was was destroyed by Chaos, stole an Egg from a nest of a massive Thunder Lizard that inhabited the Dragon Isles. Barely escaping the Isles the Seer took the Egg back to his Temple City in Lustria and waited for it to hatch. When it hatched the already massive creature imprinted on the Seer, and thus the bond grew stronger as the skink hand raised the creature.

Generations later, more Thunder Lizards have been hatched in Texcoco, imprinting on trusted Priesthood of Itzl. The priesthoods bond with these giants have allowed the Seraphon of Texcoco to harness and control these giants, especially for war.

Now settled in both Ghyran and Ghur, these Thunder Lizards, or Thunderdons by some, evolve in the realm they inhabit.

Starting her Sotek Engines, which will go under both side platforms... for those who think themselves safe once under the platforms are sorely mistaken as Soteks wrath is poured upon them.

Also since the last photo new support beams have been added and finished, along with her 24 skinks have been primed! Also have primed a few modified Saurus Banners to place on the new beams to add color ajd cohesion with the rest of the model, and also a poor CoS solider who was caught trespassing

Finished the first of two Sotek Engines!

Real fun to paint, pretty easy compared to other stuff ive been painting recently, probably 4ish hours total?

Went for an Ancient yet taken care of feel? Almost feels like painted petrified wood a bit to me. Really love the color, I think it'll pop real nicely once out onto the platform, and even better once the snakes are added:)

Thinking of starting the next one tomorrow along with the icons that ill be placing on the support beams to bring more cohesion across the model.

Colors used: Redwood recipe (base), Sotek Green, Dragon Bright Orange, Wild Rider Red, Moot Green & Reikland Fleshshade. 20210401_205439.jpg 20210401_205509.jpg 20210401_205525.jpg 20210401_205550.jpg 20210401_205607.jpg 20210401_205644.jpg

It looks good, the shade(wash) brought down the brightness of the colors in a good way.
    I love the mid-American vibes :artist::artist:

Good luck on the other one.
Great to see the progress on Tlanextic again :)

    Keep it up

    Grrr, Imrahil

Thank you, and yes totally agreed about the wash bringing the colors to a nice spot! Came out super well I think, definitely looking forward to having them both done and eventually attached. I too love the Native-American vibes to it

At the moment i am debating magnitizing the platforms to the frame vs gluing... and likewise with the Sotek Engines. Be able to take things off for transport might be nice, but then again, I am planning to design a custom carrier box for her.

Feels very good to be focused on her again

Here is the most up-to-date Warscroll for Tlanextic at the moment with a revised title also, from Tlanextic, The Last Thunder Lizard of Ghur to Tlanextic, The First Thunder Lizard

This name reflects my own homebrew as the first Thunder Lizard to be apart of any Seraphon or Lizardmen army.

Currently working on Icons that will go on the new Support Beams (outwards), these will help fill in the wood + bring that rather bare area more in-line with the rest of the model 20210403_021204.jpg
