I finished the rest of my Warcrow Red Caps this week.

Flamecobs- Red Caps equipped with flamethrower hands

Here are all the completed Underworlds Rascals expansion for Warcrow Adventures (Corvus Belli).



3x Sightless, the Rumpy Road/Red Capped King, and 3x Osseus.

Yup, no assembly for these guys either, all I added was some sand on the bases and could paint them straight out of the box.

Finished the last Red Cap mini- the Crucible!



Basically this mini is the Lord of the Rings Cave Troll scene, but with its back being the uruk-hai mud pits from Isengard...



In game the Crucible not only spawns units of more Red Caps onto the battlefield once other units perish, but it can also literally throw them across the battlefield towards oncoming enemies



I do love the Red Caps hitching rides on her



She turned out good enough, great army centerpiece!

Full Red Cap Collection!



As much as I really wanted to take my Lizardmen to Adepticon this year to be my Frostgrave warband, I pivoted to these guys instead. Always wanted a batch of Red Caps to paint, glad Corvus Belli came through for me with these guys.

Just a few more spellcaster pieces to put together for the warband and I will be ready to go.

Next project to smash out before Adepticon (its less than a week away) is some old (and a few new) Cryx models from Warmachine that have been burning a hole in my pile of shame for at least 6 years. Its been a while since I painted these guys, all the way back on page 25 of this thread!

Cryx minis WIP, either done or yet to come.

I am doing a new approach to the faction, as much as I enjoy the look of the previous minis I painted for Cryx it was not much fun to paint. Plus I have been inspired recently to do some work based on another artist I found on instagram.

They look fine... but the lines were a pain in the butt and I don't want to do this again.



Inspiration came from @Wubswammers on instagram and his awesome Dark Mechanicum:

I started with the glorious Pistol Wraith, perfect 2D metal model from classic warmachine:



Next up are two warjacks, had to get these guys right and I love how they turned out. They read "ghostfleet" to me thanks to the way I painted their heads, just what I was looking for.

Turns out great. Really like the look of this guy. If anyone remembers Bionicle, his head reminds me of the Bohrok swarm.

I realized today that I hadn't updated the index on the first page of this overblown thread for about seven years........

....so today I went back and updated it! It amazes me how many projects I have worked on in the past few years. Since 2020 alone I have painted over 1000 models ... and I am happy to say that I have improved in my abilities since then!

You can really see the improvement! I love the samurai jack model and the blimp.

Updates! Went to Adepticon again this year and got to play some fun games of Frostgrave.

First two games were with my uncle and brother, we played them a day before the tournament to level up our wizards a bit. I used my tiki-terrain to spruce up the board a bit... not very "frosty" but the boards looked good!



First game we played was with this Endor-inspired trees, made the game very vertical as all the treasure tokens were up high. Lots of time spent getting up and down ladders.





Second game was also on a beach-board, this time with some ruins.



This time my brother had two bears summoned as part of his warband, but things took a turn as my uncle's lowly thief was able to hold of a bear for the entire game with nothing but his knife!



Day 2/Game 3 was in the tournament proper. Lore-wise I decided that since my red-cap wizard had a Ring of Teleportation by things point, at the end of game 2 he had accidentally teleported both himself and all the warbands present from the warm tropical beach to the frozen ruins up north!

Played with two great dudes who brought some nicely painted warbands with them.



All the terrain was amazing.

I had fun casting Wall spells during the game, really shook up how the game was played for maximum shenanigans!



Game 4 and the final Frostgrave game for the weekend was fought over a glowing orb in the center of the board in a ruined town:



I had finally been able to summon my "construct" into a game, who proceeded to curbstomp a few members of my Uncles warband before being finished off by an animated skull! And one of the opposing players also succeeded in bringing forth a summoned Greater Demon.... who promptly went rogue and started wrecking house.



The game was a bloodbath, I ended the game with just my wizard and apothecary on the board fighting over some treasure.



All in all some fantastic games of Frostgrave on some great terrain!

While there I also played one game of Infinity that was a lot of fun with my brother. I played Hassassin Bahram while he played Steel Phalanx.

Used my normal terrain, made the board a bit smaller with the desert pieces.

The scanner in the center of the board was the main objective, a specialist had to go and turn it on for your side. I turned the signal on first round and it stayed there the rest of the game, despite my brother's best attempts!

Really enjoyed the game, this was my brother's second ever infinity game and he was a fan, same as last year. I was able to finally convince him to go into the game as well, he came away with a few items from the Military Orders faction! Looking forward to see what he paints for next year.

One of my favorite places the last two times I have visited: the Open Game area of the convention. Lots of great terrain created by the Adepticon prep staff, they do some amazing work getting everything set up for the convention goers!

My uncle also was convinced to purchase a new faction, he went Yu Jing/Imperial Service which is fantastic. Really hoping we can play a three-way game again next year.
