What are you doing today hobbywise?

When I was 14 and very, VERY broke, I found a small Chaos Dwarf army in a thrift store. More recently, a friend found like 2 dozen White Dwarfs from the early 2000's at another thrift store.

Wow, that's quite the find! I just find Lego at the ones around here sometimes... kind of jealous... o_O

I've been wondering about Scale 75 myself. Let me know how they are if you get them. I have been using a mix of Citadel, P3 paints and Army Painter range and I've been happy with them.

I will let you know what I think of them when I get to using them, currently picking out which set to start with, either an essentials or a more colour focused one. Could be a while as I wish to go through the paints I have first.

I was thinking on the mixing the brands rather than being obsessed over just one, I think obsessing over one prevents me from buying all the paints, I did found a Model Colour Flat Red on the desk. Then it's the thought of the approach of brand mixing, I heard Vallejo do the better white/pale yellow colours though.
Problem is I just found out my local art shop charge nearly £3 for a pot now for some bizarre reason as all other places are either £2.75 or £2.45

Having been working on the seat of the Slaan for a day or two I think it's time to take a break from that. Most the base colours are on(first coat) and that is about it.
Tonight the plan is to start on the Saurus warriors.

um...

Hobbywise...

There is a starter box worth of Raptadons sitting in the other room, with some Kruleboyz... neither of which I get to play with as I'm forwarding ebay purchases to a friend across the Atlantic...

This annoys me a little...

No, a lot.

Picked up some secondhand Ardboyz for my Big Waagh, but at the moment since I'm working on Orks, I don't feel like ALSO working on Orruks, and I cannot afford the new Seraphon stuff yet...

So Clan Moulder is getting some allies. I bought a box of the Blood Bowl skaven some time ago, and I'm going to convert them into Clan Eshin 'runners (haven't decided which type yet). Therefore, squeak.

I might steal/copy that color scheme for the terradon if you don't mind

But of course! Here's the plan:

Body: Wraithbone / Militarum Green + Contrast Medium / Wraithbone (clean up) / Straken Green (highlights)
Wings: Incubi Darkness / Kabalite Green (heavy drybrush) / Sybarite Green (light drybrush) / Abaddon Black (stripes) / Temple Guard Blue (rim aroung stripes)

I've been working on my gaming table, flocking with short static grass... outside... in the wind...
I'm happy with it :D

Bought some early 2000's White Dwarfs off Ebay. I'm working on an idea for a map based Warhammer campaign.
nice. I had one of my buddies pick up the current bugman from warhammer world when he was there. All the old dwarf character sculpts are great. I wish i had more grombrindal variants.

printing more ogres, working on sisters of battle celestians

I took the plastic Oldblood I built and converted it to use as a Fencer's blades Oldblood. Wish I had decided or conceived of this before originally gluing it together as the whole thing was a massive pain.

It took a little bit of waiting, but I finally had some Men of Arnor show up in the mail earlier this week.

Five miniatures in total from Unreleased Miniatures - a King of the North, a banner bearer, and three men of Arnor who I'll be using as captains.

Incidentally, I'm using Numenoreans for the rank and file warriors for two reasons:
- My own personal thoughts on the official Arnor models is that while distinctive they don't inherently match up with my own impression of Arnor, being more accustomed to their Numenorean appearance from Battle for Middle-Earth 2's Witch-King expansion; and
- it's kind of hard to commit to an army when there's no official stock of the miniatures in question (outside of Hobbit Archers and Rangers, of course, but those can be used in other factions).

As it stands, I will be going with a royal blue for an army of Arthedain, though I might indulge one-offs for Cardolan as the land of red hills.

Been very caught up in a lot still so slow progress on getting the first set of miniatures done for a painting challenge and it's due Sunday and I still have a lot to work on.
Scale 75 have arrived, went with an Essentials set in the end to give a look at some variety, aiming to get those miniatures done first before I go and mess around with testing.
The shed is slowly coming along, kind of excited as I've been deeply wanting some peace, just a quiet morning of painting.
Sometimes the thought of my own tabletop creeps in the back of my mind, hopefully one day I will work some more on it. At the moment it's just scattered notes but haven't had the time to chip at it.

I'm finishing converting the Seraphon SC, assembling 40 old warriors, converting 10 new warriors to guard
