Got an assembly line going for 20 saurus warriors, a slann starpriest, and repairs to the old metal Kroq-Gar model.

Just tell her you will bring some gift from Nashville. A guitar or something.Today, my project is to try and convince my wife to let me go to my first tournament on very short notice. I'm thinking about Nashcon in Nashville, Tennessee, USA the first weekend in June. I'd have a lot of painting to do!
Progress on a modular stegadon/engine of the gods build. So far, the stegadon itself is assembled, and the "stargate throne" representing the EotG is built and in the process of being painted.
With everything said and done however, I'm questioning the size of the base provided in the kit itself. The 92mm-by-120mm base feels like overkill for the size of the steg itself, especially when it can fit comfortably on a 52mm-by-90mm base instead. Whilst I also understand that modelling for advantage is a touchy subject, it's hard for me to justify going with the larger base with this model when I know it can and will be taken advantage of by other players trying to get as many attacks in using model-to-model rules and piling as many models both on and adjacent to the base.
In the meantime, I've set aside a magnetized 40mm base should I wish to use the stargate throne as an impromptu skink starpriest or starseer.
Fair enough. The only other consideration I have in favour of the smaller base is portability, especially since I have neither a personal vehicle nor a lot of carrying capacity beyond the tacklebox I use for the hobby.About the Steggy base:
In reality that isn't much of a problem unless you deliberately rush your Stegadon into the middle of a horde by itself. You always have Skinks (for example) fighting near it.
Also: the base looks cool and provides you with some space to make it look nice. I like it.![]()
