What are you doing today hobbywise?

Got an assembly line going for 20 saurus warriors, a slann starpriest, and repairs to the old metal Kroq-Gar model.

I kiiiinda snapped back to painting my Black Knights all of a sudden (talk about hobby ADHD....) so that may mean I will not be able to finish my Bastiladon or my Morghast in time for the Monster Mash.... meh, we will see.

Primed my Bloodletters this morning and I noticed some still have some greenstuff hanging over the bases from where I did their textured base. Not sure what to do.

Might dig out the Hexwraiths and carry on with them, still deciding on their bases though. Was thinking what if there was a death army that didn't like the undead birds much.

second and last 5 wolves in progress. then i might get a start on some more saurus

If it's not windy out I might sit outside a paint my Bloodletters later on.
Still in this twist about AoP board, I still lean towards the MediEvil themed one. 20th anniversary of the game soon and all. Hmmmmm so many choices.

Edit: Then I just realised if one was to convert Krell from the Death armies

Will have to think hard on this now haha

Panicing. I have 6 evenings and a Saturday to finish painting everything for Warhammer World now. I am just on target, so hopefully I can maintain momentum and make it over the finish line.

Hopefully finishing my Vargheist but we have carpet fitters coming tomorrow so 3 rooms to empty first.

I had a good night yesterday. Progressed on my Morghast (shading) and did a lot of detail work on my Black Knights and my first unit of Grave Guard.
In case you wondered: I batch paint the Grave Guard together with the Black Knights because they are very similar, just without horses.

Today, my project is to try and convince my wife to let me go to my first tournament on very short notice. I'm thinking about Nashcon in Nashville, Tennessee, USA the first weekend in June. I'd have a lot of painting to do!

Just tell her you will bring some gift from Nashville. A guitar or something. :D
(as a fan of Country Music I would love to be there myself some day....)

Painted my proof of concept dungeon layout pieces. For reference, the thing j actually produce for sale is the 25mm square tilesIMG_20180515_205132.jpg

I got my movement trays done. Just about on course for completion by the 25th. Just.

I spent the whole evening painting and made some good progress:
- painted some details on my Black Knights
- finished some details on my Grave Guard
- shaded my first Morghast
- shaded my Black Knights
- shaded my Grave Guard

Next steps are
- corrode the Grave Guard and Black Knights (I love that step)
- paint their weapons
- paint the Morghast's armor
- paint the other five Guard (I haven't batch painted them all together to avoid burnout)

Progress on a modular stegadon/engine of the gods build. So far, the stegadon itself is assembled, and the "stargate throne" representing the EotG is built and in the process of being painted.

With everything said and done however, I'm questioning the size of the base provided in the kit itself. The 92mm-by-120mm base feels like overkill for the size of the steg itself, especially when it can fit comfortably on a 52mm-by-90mm base instead. Whilst I also understand that modelling for advantage is a touchy subject, it's hard for me to justify going with the larger base with this model when I know it can and will be taken advantage of by other players trying to get as many attacks in using model-to-model rules and piling as many models both on and adjacent to the base.

In the meantime, I've set aside a magnetized 40mm base should I wish to use the stargate throne as an impromptu skink starpriest or starseer.

About the Steggy base:
In reality that isn't much of a problem unless you deliberately rush your Stegadon into the middle of a horde by itself. You always have Skinks (for example) fighting near it.
Also: the base looks cool and provides you with some space to make it look nice. I like it. :)

Tonight I am going to finish off the second squig herder, and put some base colours down on my warboss.

Fair enough. The only other consideration I have in favour of the smaller base is portability, especially since I have neither a personal vehicle nor a lot of carrying capacity beyond the tacklebox I use for the hobby.

Black Knights and Grave Guard are corroded.
Next up: Painting their weapons.

Nearly finished the Vargheist, started looking at finishing my Seraphon, Cleaning mould lines of Ironjawz
