What are you doing today hobbywise?

Finally was able to go to my local GW, picked up an Akhelian King, Leviadon and the mausoleum scenery box. He was also okay with my swapping the elves out. I was telling him about the idea for Armies on Parade, don't think he has heard of MediEvil so the fun of confusing him there... Did show him a picture of the boxart and explained it will be the 20th anniversary soon.
Now time to do some building
 
Got a little paint on my blue saurus command group. Also, did the first two base layers on their bases. And drybrushed the first layer on some cold ones. Hopefully I'll have some extra time to paint this summer. We'll see.
 
Primed and basecoated all the weapons for my Black Knights and Grave Guard.
 
Today is Day One! I have a fourteen-day plan to get ready for my first convention, which takes place the first weekend in June.

Today's list is a big one...

  1. Spray prime seven Skinks and three Kroxigor
  2. Finish painting Saurus Oldblood on Carnosaur
  3. Write up paint scheme for Slann Starmaster
  4. Begin painting Slann Starmaster

Unfortunately the weather is proving uncooperative for item #1--the humidity is currently 86% and there are thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon.

Priming done! And it was twenty Skinks, not seven. Don't know where I came up with that.
 
Painted a small bit of the Bloodletters this afternoon, looking over the instructions for the Mausoleums and I noticed many of them have interiors, now do I paint the interiors first before gluing them together with the walls or won't it matter much if I don't paint them?

The manager of my local GW shop asked me to play a "teaching game" with a new player today. So I'm in the curious position of taking "650 to 800" points worth of models to run against a Tzeentch army. I bought the Tzeentch book and gave it a quick lookover. There's a lot in there! I hope my opponent has studied it more carefully than I have, because I'm mainly only going to be helpful to him or her in terms of "Well, first we roll priority. Then there's the hero phase." And so on. I think we'll probably just do a straight up face off and not worry about the Matched Play rules unless my opponent wants to. I usually prep for games extensively, but today I guess I'm just going to take my iPad and wing it.

I'm proud to have been asked, though, and hope I do a good job welcoming my opponent to the community.

Going to push forward with getting 15 cold ones ready for their riders. I'll probably also be painting more of the EotG, especially the skink priest, and I may get some more magnet work done too.
 
Today i will roll dices all day long.
40k Apocalypse is upon our gaming store!
 
Going to be painting a bit today, working out which colour to use for highlighting at the moment. Also working on ideas for that new army, all votes are even while Order leaps ahead by the one. Well anything goes with Order apparently, plus I bet many will want me to have this army be able to ally with Seraphon.

why did you need to swap out elves?
 
Worked on a Cold One. Drybrushed the final green layer, put the purple on the scales, and basecoated all of the details. I just need to put a layer and a wash on the details and finish the basing.
 
Hopefully finish my Vargheist and might base coat some Seraphon.
 
The plan today is:

Process Etsy order
3 salamanders
Building stormcast
 
Local GW is holding that Dual diorama competition soon and there is me "Got spare lizards, you want lizards? Lizards vs Lizards?"
Don't think I have spares of anything else hmmmmmmm, the lack of details.
