What are you doing today hobbywise?

Having a bit of a break, after the massive painting cram sessions that have been going on I deserve it...

It was fun.
To the point that we are planning another round, this time with a replica of the Siege of Cadia. :)
That would be a blast. I've always wanted to play a replica of the battle of Macragge. I have the tyranids...

Finished one and got a couple layers on eight more Cold Ones.

Worked on the Morghast armor.
Not happy with my edge highlights.

Will finish the Vargheist tonight, got some greenstuff to do on 5 brutes then they are ready for primer Friday.

that's the plan for the future, given that we have 2 'nids players. :D

but one of them owns also IG, and he's pushing for Cadia first. :p

Started work on some Chaos Dwarfs (hellcannon crew). @Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl : I'm painting dwarfs!

Yet they are the Dawi Zharr, the Dwarfs’ hated lost kin who are serving the Warriors of Chaos by crewing a Hellcannon. But it’s a start ;)

I look forward to seeing the results at any rate - I admit that while my Dwarf self hates the Chaos Dwarfs like any other Dwarf of the Worlds Edge Mountains, I do like to see the Chaos Dwarfs get some love - they are a really interesting army and I like how they combined their Babylonian/Persian theme used to make them different from regular Dwarfs with their obsession with bulls which also resonates with the Babylonian theme. It was a real shame that GW didn’t continue them after 4th Ed apart from as a Forge World Exclusive. The huge amount of war machines they had would have made them compete fiercely with Dwarfs and Skaven to be the best artillery faction in the game, and they would have been another faction that gave WoC something to worry about, i.e. artillery. They were also apparently quite strong with magic with their infernal daemonic powers.

I also painted a Slayer (albeit one that was captured and primed for execution):

Thank you!

I agree that they are a really cool army. If I was ever to start a Dwarf army it would most definitely be Chaos Dwarfs. Unfortunately the Forge World stuff is much too expensive and I already have more than enough on my plate.

I technically own the beginning of a "crusade fleet" which is a catch all for various Imperial Miniatures and color schemes I want to paint.

For example: pastel lavender mordians

And so begins the lengthy weapon swap from clubs to spears with my 40 saurus warriors, in light of a recent game I had. On the plus side, the kit hasn't changed beyond the plastic's shade of grey over the past decade, and the vast majority of them aren't painted beyond a black primer.

To help make the unit champion stand out, I've gone ahead and modified his spear into a polearm.

Beyond that, I've gone ahead and placed a few orders for 15 temple guard, 8 more saurus cavalry, an eternity warden, an astrolith bearer, and a skink starseer.

Finished last 3 salamanders from Mays section, and started work on the 5/15 liberators for commission
