What are you doing today hobbywise?

Nurgle isn't my issue today, Isha/Alarielle is. I don't know what is in bloom, but my allergies are completely haywire. Still, managed to get my sneks based and ready for priming.

I completed all the skellies and Ushabti's for my Punga Sons of Anubis blood bowl team quite a few months ago but have been procrastinating about the mummies. Finally done 5 of the 6 and almost finished the last one. They are big! Size comparison with a skeleton and a Ushabti in the last photo.Female mummy.jpg Mummy 1.jpg Mummy 2 side.jpg Mummy 4.jpg Mummy 5.jpg Mummy 6.jpg Size comparison.jpg

Fabulous bases!

Rainy day during a port visit, so I built some Eternal Guards.

Seeing as they no longer have official rules anymore, I figure they'll be good to use as Black Guard in a potential Living City collection.

Speaking of which, I put in an order a week ago for some third party gryphon riders (Archvillain Games' Order of the Gryphon range to be exact) to potentially be Freeguild Marshals with lances. Not to be outdone, I also did my best to hunt down an OOP Demigryph Knight kit so that my current batch aren't left out in the cold as a non-functional unit of 3 (I will be rebasing them to be Cavaliers).

Some time ago, I was working on a big special build for a campaign that never wound up happening... and eventually that build took a spill from a high shelf, after never being finished.

This is all that remained after the fall (Beasts of Chaos chariot for size comparison). Due to the size (again, for a custom campaign that never happened), it couldn't really be used as-is for anything...

So I did some more disassembly today:

Two BIG tread sections (Ironskull is just there as a size comparison) with fuel tanks. I'm going to mount them closer together, add a cab, some sponsons, some turrets, and an open deck and turn it into a Battlefortress! Why? Why not?

The orc large Infantry from my blog post yesterday have been primed.

I used a bone / khaki color to prime them. Using an off-white color like this allows warmer tones to get all of the lightness and highlights you would get from white primer, while allowing you to darken areas that need to be darkened with other colors like black or brown.

I like to paint models like this in block-color sections. For example, all the metallics you would expect like armor and weapons will be base coated with a dark brown before working up into a silver metallic.

For more hobby tips, follow this page. If you'd like to read the blog post from yesterday ( and see for yourself how to make inexpensive or heavy infantry from extra pieces) there is a link below.

As the GM, I started up a Middle-earth GURPS campaign with my local gaming group, set TA1871 in Southern Eriador. Meeting at the Inn of the Starry Crown in Tharbad, the players include a Knight of Dol Amroth, a deserting Gondorian sailor from Pelargir who's taken to being a thief, and a hobbit cook with a silent Dunedain bodyguard.

On another note, I finally finished my little band of tauric demigryph knights, whom will be serving as Cavaliers in a Living City army I'm planning.

More bird people arrived in the mail today, padding out the collection presented here:

Again, all for a Living City army. Tzaangors need not apply. LOL

If you're curious as to the size of the gryphons, they're roughly the size of the old metal Kroq Gar on Grymloq, who is Aggradon-sized:
