Also, are you just going to paint them with 4 paints?? That´d actually be a thing worth trying out, a competition where you pick a single model, 3 (or other low number of) paints and paint it using only those (though mixing is allowed)

I only use around 5 so easy peasy that challenge

Finish: June 30th
Participants (5): @BeardyGecko (Dark Eldar), @Crowsfoot , @Ritual (ST Tzeench) , @Jorgik (Lizardmen) , @Lord-Marcus , @DeadlyRecluse (GoC boxset) , @Wolfwerty33 .
The goal is to paint a complete Start Collecting! (or any similar conbination of models) box of any army (40k included).
On May 1st all the participants will post a picture of their start collecting (and possibly any other boxes for planned conversions if wished, obviously ), and once every week of what they´ve done so far, possibly on Sundays

I hope they don´t overlap, thought I want the competitions . Anyways, I noticed that the set time for the challenge is the time I have left in school this year, which means I´ll be getting final exams. I don´t know how well will I do (in the challenge of course ).

Terrain challenge will not overlap and I'm nearly done with the structure but struggling with the prize element atm.

As you saw, the new stuff turned up so I'm painting that for the challenge... I've got the following to do:

20x Berserkers
10x Hearthguard
1x Magmabomb
4x Wizards
1x Luminark
1x Hurricanum
1x Griffon Wizard

I think getting all of that done is a bit of a push, but I think the Fyreslayer part of it should be acceptable... Thoughts?

Yeah I imagine that's a manageable amount? is that the 31 models at the top?

Yeah, it's 20 dwarves with 2 weapons, 10 dwarves with a bigger weapon, and one big fire lizard thing with a dude on top.

I love that magmadroth model but I don't do dwarfs maybe I could re purpose one as a lizardman mount...

If that feels manageable in the time frame then go for it.

I'm pretty comfortable I can get that done in 2 months, give myself a month for the dwarves and a month for the magmabomb I need to order some new basing materials... The shopping list grows!

I may change my models for space marines, I should be getting a playable army for the new 40k

Terrain challenge

Two quick questions:

1. Will the terrain challenge/comp allow for terrain from any army/faction (like the last time) or will it be Lizardmen/Seraphon specific?
2. Will there be any maximum size limitations placed on the entries?

I have two terrain ideas (and both intimidate me ), one is Lizardmen themed and the other is for another army. I'm not sure if I can successfully pull off either piece, but a competition makes for a great excuse to try something I might otherwise shy away from and to push my skills to their very limit. I felt the same way with the Golden Serpent contest, I had talked about doing such a conversion for years, but the comp finally spurred me on to give it a go.
