One thing I find kind of weird: how will he blow the horn/trumpet with no lungs? On the other hand he's a skeleton marching to war... so I guess he'll manage playing his instrument somehow...;)

Nice work !
He doesn't have lungs or lips, yeah.
Also no tendons in his legs so he cannot walk either...
Magic I guess. :D

Done a great job, love the Trogi - the colours work very well.

Thanks!

I finished my last five Grave Guard today as well.
Here they are all together. I went for an ice base look for them, a slight variation within the winter theme I have for my whole undead army

And here is my first Morghast finished!
Two days late for the Monster Mash but at least finished.
The second one is still WIP, about 30% finished.

As you see I used my standard green ghost paint scheme for all the ghostly parts, and the rest is just bone.

Doing all the bone is delicate work, but painting each rib and trying to not mess up the skulls inside really pays off. It was not easy but if I ever do a Mortarch I will be able to paint those parts much more easily.

The armor also was hard to do for me. I rarely do edge highlights but I think the ones on that model look decent and make the armor plates really pop. I roughly followed the GW painting video for Nagash to paint the armor.

I also like how the OSL around the eyes turned out. A bit of green glaze did the job well.

Very nice, I have just finished two morghast’s myself (purely because I love the models) I also went for purple armour (but a little more toned down) ;P

I also considered applying a black shade to them and make them darker that way, but in normal light (that lamp is very bright) they look a bit darker anyway so I kept them that way.

In other news:
I won the Monster Arena event in my local GW store last week, using my Zombie Dragon.

I also took part in the 2v2 match event. @Mesandres and I lost our game but it was very close. And it was _loads_ of fun!

Thanks! I also quite like how they look together. :)

A few people have asked me how to make the Bastiladon convertible now, so here are a few pics illustrating how it works.
Sorry for the poor quality, but I think you can see what I mean.

Description:

Don't glue the following parts:
- Ark's mounting points to Basti's rails
- Solar Engine's mounting points to Basti's rails
- the Skink operator of the Solar Engine to the Basti (glue him only to the Engine)
- the two Ark-specific Skinks to anything

You can use small bits of poster putty to keep them in place if need be. I usually use one ball on the bottom of the Engine that sticks to the shell.

The parts:
Basti with rails and two Skinks.

Solar Engine with Skink Operator (you can see a small bit of white poster putty there.

Crew for the Ark

For the Solar Engine it is easy, just do it like this:
Place the Solar Engine like you would glue it. Then put the Skink in place (there are holes in the Bastiladon shell for his feet) and glue him to the Engine. That way he is in the right position.

To mount the Engine onto the Basti, carefully press down on the mounting points, not the Skink or the gem. Do it slowly while checking that rhe Skink's feet go into the holes.
If you place the poster putty ball well it will be invisible from most angles.

It works basically the same for the Ark but the Skinks are not glued in place. Just put the Ark onto the rails and then place the Skinks where they belong.
I suggest building the crew last. That way you can make sure their pose allows them to fit to the finished Bastiladon.

Still WIP but almost finished:

I mainly kept the color scheme of my other Skellies. I might play them as regular Skellies or Grave Guard, maybe the bosses also as Wight Kings if I need some.

I just bought this set not too long ago as well. (I'll probably work them into my TK army with square bases though.) I love seeing how you painted them up though! Great job!
