AoS Second Edition

Also, look at this picture of a SCE city. Just look at that opulence next to the squalor. People are literally living in little more than slums next to lavishly decorated walls clearly made out of valuable metals. Can't the SCE take time out of their busy scedules to build halfway decent housing for their followers? Wasn't the whole point that they were both warriors and builders? Imho at this rate the SCE cities are becoming the most dystopian places in the realms.

Can't they at least release a 2nd edition of each tome with the errata and stuff corrected so we at least don't need consult several seperate pdf's to check if a rule still holds..

One would have said that the release of the new edition was the perfect moment to unit the scattered rules in a coherent block...

Yeah in that regard it was a failed release, hands down. Especially that they already had to release a number of errata sheets and FAQs. It looks rushed.
The content is good though, I think this really might become the edition where they get a lot of things strait finally. Especially for Death, and I hope in the near future for Destruction too.

worst thing is, not even that is a complete list seeing as the various fluff books like the quest for Ghal maraz also include some minor rules…
At this point a freaking wiki is easier to navigate and search what you looking for than trying to find the correct rule in the actual books.

Indeed that would be great, as Fyreslayers could finally get some more units and additional named characters, but it looks like GW would rather release more rubbish for Blood Bowl first.

I was pretty surprised too that you need 3ish books already. If you compare it to necromunda though. It's a dream. The rules are everywhere for that game!

In other news, I got to play a game of 2.0 with our lizards. Pretty strong it was 3 vs 3. I had skinks basically lock down most of the opposing players units, while my team mates went to town with the eel riders, and Skyfires. Turn 2 summoned some Ripperdactyls turn 2 and they had a tasty buffet. We beat Death.... for now!

Wow - you got to ally with Idoneth! What are the Eel Cavalry like? I was thinking of doing a small army of them as a possible project for the future with a King as leader so Ishlaen Guard could be battleline.

@Lord Agragax of Lunaxoatl the eels are scary. They did 6 wounds to the new named Vampire on zombie dragon, and I think those were the more defensive ones lol. The King on deepmare is really strong on his own, so I'm sure with synergies hes scary! The guy who played them said that the thralls are the real mvps of the army though.

Especially for Death
Speaking of which, had a conundrum in-store today where someone had the Legions of Nagash, Core 2.0 and GHB 2018 out in front of him and still couldn't find the rules for summoning a pack of zombies. I know it's changed since the Grand Alliance: Death book, so any clues on where we can find Death's new summoning rules?

IIRC Death doesn't summon like that anymore. They can resummon dead units using their allegiance abilities but that's it. The rest is regeneration.
But I have to look it up, I have all those books too.

That's what I thought, but there's meant to be something about grave sites in there I think?

That's on the allegiance ability page, I am pretty sure about that.

Zombies can increase their numbers with successful attacks. It is in their warscrolls.

Yeah but those weren't subject to reinforcement points anyway as they just add models to an existing unit IIRC.

Yep, roll a dice for each zombie killed in the unit at the end of the combat phase on +6 they return

Buahahahahaha
I am going to get this model and slightly change one of the fingers so he looks like he is flipping everyone off

I thought you hated stormcast?

@NIGHTBRINGER won't be too pleased that someone on this forum has joined the Sigmarines...;)

Also I've just noticed that the model is swearing even with 2 fingers, at least in Britain and France it is a swear gesture - it derives from English archers in the Hundred Years' War who, if they were captured by the French, would have had their first two fingers chopped off so they couldn't fire their bow anymore. Archers who weren't captured used to use this gesture to troll French knights to show they still had those fingers, and that's how that expression became a rude expression in Britain.

So you could say that this Stormcast is in the middle of saying "Frak you Nagash!"

Nonono I don't hate Stormcast. There is nothing about any game or other hobby that would justify the use of my strongest negative emotion (hate). I reserve that one for important things.
It is true that I dislike their ubiquity, I dislike that many of them kinda look the same, I dislike that Seraphon can only use SCE as allies, and I dislike that they aren't much fun to play against.
I have painted a few SCE models (from Shadespire and from Silver Tower, and a few Gryph-Hounds) and I do think a few of them look kinda cool. If they weren't as annoying as they are to me I would even consider playing a Seraphon list with a few SCE as allies in it.
If I had to describe my feelings about them I would rather call it something between indifference and mild dislike right now. Tendency is toward good though, I think the new models look better than the old ones, they have more character.
