Your brave doing the base first!
My painting is on hold at the moment, we are having a kitchen extension and the builder has put a RSJ right through my painting loft so I need to clear all the crap out this weekend to commence any further painting.
Oh and Diablo 3, Hardcore paragon 150, Softcore Paragon 405, Season Paragon 202, yes I'm sad.................
He's magnetised so pops right off. The arms are also not attached so I can get him off for painting the rest of it easy enough...
I'm trying to fit in painting where I can, it's reasonably quiet now we have the garden sorted and the weather is bad - so getting a decent amount in. Need to get this lot painted before I decide how to expand for some proper 40k stuff...
Hehe your annoyed after one, oh boy your in for a bumpy ride then.
GW models are very detailed some times too much, that's the reason I sold all my Khorne stuff could not face painting them.
Not really, went for Deathwatch so I would have less dudes to paint. Anything is better than painting another 40 skinks in a row anyway...
Dunno I enjoy painting skinks as they are pretty simple to get them looking good.
I like the Deathwatch stuff alot.
It's the lack of variety that makes me sad. I feel like if Seraphon had a higher pointed, more elite, unit of guys that weren't just chaff designed to die and be resummoned then I would have more fun painting them as I could come up with individual customisations and modifications for each guy.
As it stands I would put in the effort for a unit of cool looking warriors and they'd get nuked in a turn by some rat bastards.

Tried a bit more freehand this evening. Not totally sure how I feel about it, I'll try and smooth out the lines a bit and and maybe try and add some weathering to tie it together a little more. At the moment it looks painted on, and not in a good way.
@Ritual
That's what happened with me, painted the grey knights and just didn't get a rush from the painting or rules.
Yeah, I don't think painting space marines is for me... but it could easily just be the black colour, so going to grab a freeby from the local GW and paint one up in another theme and see how I feel.
Following that I will just read the rules and see if anything jumps out at me, oddly thinking something horde based might be interesting to play - despite what I said before.
I had Orks as well but after painting 60 I'd had enough
The thing with a lot of horde based armies is you can get them to tabletop standard really really fast with airbrush > wash > drybrush.
I am looking at necrons now, but I am also really interested in skitarii. I'm getting the main rule book and the rest of my stuff on Saturday, so might grab the rulebook that covers one or both of them and see how I feel.
Definitely think "way more techy" is the way I should be going as that is what I truly enjoyed painting on Fabius. Having said that the leather and green goo was also cool.
Hell if I know. I think I'm going to paint what I have and whatever I feel like picking up I'll just do that.
