The never-ending battle against woke Hollywood and SJW infused entertainment media [trigger warning]

I'm currently re-watching Castlevania (again)! Mind you, it is one of the newer shows that I gave a chance to.

 

I doubt Scarterra will be seen as the spiritual successor to Tolkien, as Tolkien actually set a limit on the amount of stuff he fitted into his world

Escalonia is more of a spiritual successor to Tolkien given how much inspiration I've taken from real-world ancient history and mythology for it, as well as Warhammer Fantasy and hints of Redwall. Not to mention that I've kept a control on the races and nations I want in my world.

Scarterra is more a spiritual successor to D&D and all the other 80s RPG mythes out there, as it shares their everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach. But then, given how Wizards of the Coast is sending D&D down the pan, it's definitely in need of a spiritual successor, so Scarterra will certainly be well-received as the next RPG sensation. I vote you keep on focusing on achieving this niche.

I agree more with @BigDinosaur - a truly strong, alpha male is someone who respects and supports both himself and others, chooses his own path, and always does his best to achieve his desired goals. Then there are two types of beta male - the overly-giving one lacking in self-respect that allows himself to be pushed around, and the self-centred bad boy bully that preys on those weaker than himself, preferably with a gang of lesser thugs around him, and loses his nerve when challenged by someone who can actually match him. Those are the only three real categories of men around.

And as @BigDinosaur also said, it's not about having outer strength, it's all about inner strength. Indeed I would advocate that men learn to develop their inner strength first, before building up their outer strength, because there are plenty of weak men out there who use muscle for evil.


@Scalenex, you keep tapping into this evolutionary psychology nonsense and mindsets like this won't do anything to help get humanity out of its current mess. Indeed I believe it's attitudes like this that brought about this mess in the first place - the more people believe trash like this, the less they will trust in their higher intelligence and conscience, and the more they will think that it's acceptable to just follow instinct like pathetic, primitive cavepeople, and play the victim and blame 'male/female/human nature' when things go wrong. The reason why I dislike Jordan Peterson is because he is an advocate of such attitudes who has forgotten that we can be so much more than mere animals, if we only put our minds to bettering ourselves mentally.

Everyone is responsible for their own actions all the time, and anyone who allows themselves to succumb to depraved instincts when they should not only has themselves to blame. Science only teaches us how the world is composed, not how we should live in it, and is no replacement for religion when it comes to teaching morality. As more and more people abandon religion, they need to be taught to live conscientiously and intelligently in alternative ways. Society needs to bring back the rules of morality and intelligent future preparation, specifically in school education, to stamp out this weak mindset that results in trusting only in what is and isn't according to science, and not what should be according to laws of decency and respectability. If people want freedom, then they should be taught to use it responsibly and not abuse it in the way that many are currently doing.

In particular hookup culture must be vilified as the hedonistic and depraved philosophy of a degeneration that pretends to be a 'revolution', because that is exactly what it is. It is the root of society's decline, and people must be taught how wrong it is to indulge in it.

I liked hearing how Disney+ lost a load of money. Between this and Netflix losing subscribers, I hope this is the start of the gradual decline of streaming services and the return of DVDs and Blu-Rays, cinema visits and general normality.

This Nelson Peltz sounds like the typical greedy little weasel-shit of a Ferengi that passes for a 'prominent' society figure these days, but if he wishes to return Disney to being politically neutral and focus on making good content (even if only because it fills his pockets more), then he's the lesser of two evils and I hope he succeeds.

 

I can't see physical media pushing back the clock and erasing/replacing streaming. Streaming offers too much convenience and bang for your buck.

The problem with streaming is the oversaturation of the market (too many companies vying for the same dollar) and insistence of these companies on producing woke content that just doesn't sell. If you put that woke content on DVD/Blu-ray, it would sell even less. Virtually nobody is going to lay down $50-80 for a season of She-Hulk on Blu-Ray.

As for DVDs specifically, they are outdated. Just like VHS before it.

I think corporate greed is the only hope we've ever had. They will never do it out of the goodness of their heart or because it is the right thing to do.

Frankly, I'm surprised it even managed to get to 10%. Even accounting for the usual contingent of NPCs , I was hoping that it would end up lower. I'd guess it's because normal people don't really care about this property, so they're less likely to engage with it and vote.
