Hi Weaverfish, and thank you! Sorry for the late response, I have not been that active as of late.

I spray paint them using corax white, and for the blue I use GW paints, and I start with thousand sons blue. I then apply a wash of coelia greenshade. Then I paint the raised surfaces with sotek green, and then highlight the blue with a layer of temple guard blue, finally baharroth blue.

For the dark blue scales I use kantor blue with a light highlight of alaitoc blue on the edges. For their hide on the front of the torso I use german camo orange ochre (vallejo) for the base. I then apply a wash of reikland fleshshade, then I paint the raised surfaces with tan yellow (vallejo) and finish with a soft highlight using bonewhite (game color). I reckon that any other ochre/beige paints will do.

Thank you so much for that, its a massive help. I loved the contrast on the Saurus units. I have a load from the 5th edition box that im stripping and repainting, these looked far and away the best that I found!

Thank you for the kind words! I look forward to seeing your saurus warrios.

Have finally taken some time to paint my steam tank, inspired by The Emperor's Wrath in Altdorf colors.

A unit of 20 greatswords remains until I have a battle ready force.

Have finished painting a unit of 20 greatswords and in extent completed my 2000 point Altdorf amy.

I am yet to paint some more artillery and detachments, not to mention a unit of dogs of war ogres, but I did have a first game with this new force against a Slaanesh Horders of Chaos army and it was a slog to say the least...

Chaos warriors go first and their hellcannon lands a direct, devastating hit on the steam tank, knocking out more than half of its hull points. On my first turn I roll too high when generating steam points leaving it with only five hull points for the remainder of the game. The only action it saw was the master engineer firing his repeater pistol a few times. It was not was I was hoping for but such is a game of Warhammer. :D
On turn two the hellcannon knocks out my great cannon and makes my units of handgunners flee. I thought that it was lost by now, but the infantry put up a good fight and since the steamtank never got knocked out entirely the game ended in a draw.

nice use of the Warlord plastics. If you ever need reinforcements let me know.

Thank you! They do have a similar feel to the older Empire plastic range that I like, and the miniatures work surprisingly well.
