Easy way to paint the new ones and look decent is this,

Full model: Spray primer white, shade all over with Waywatcher green, drybrush white.

Cloak: Go dark either purple or red, shade normally and highlight.

Trinket etc: paint as normal

Three of the four nighthaunt heroes from the soulwars box. I liked painting these a hell of a lot better, they have far more bits to colour in differently than the rank in file. Making it far less annoying that 90% of the model is just their body/cloak/thing which is almost monochrome.

The ethereal smoke on the Executioner's axe came out nicely.

He's definitly my favorite of the three. And it's one of the first times highlighting like this has actually come out properly, perhaps one day I will learn to paint properly

And the last nighthaunt hero. Which means I'm finally back to only having my arcanite battleforce box left to paint. More tzaangor and cultists with way too many details to paint…

And finally continued with my 2nd arcanite cultist box. So many freaking tzaangor… At least 1 model down.

Fun fact: The Tzaangors from the Silver Tower box are the reason why I decided to not play Tzeentch. I like how they look, but they took me ages to paint. So many details.

I regret getting two of these arcanite battleforce boxes so many freaking details and 50+ models... Why is every tzeentch mortal a horde unit.

It's been a while since I painted a dinosaur, so I thought I needed a bastiladon. And two spare skinks for my unit of skink javalins on foot. Some day I'l have a whole uit of them.

Also, another bastiladon I painted ~2 years ago for comparison. The old one is asthonishingly bad in comparison

I think the old one would profit from a few shades, then it would look a lot better as well.

Probably, I dislike re-painting old models though. Once it's done it's done. Plus I like being able to compare with the older ones

My second set of tzaangor enlightened. Only 23 more tzaangor and 20 acolytes with all their annoying details

The eye sigil on the staff came out nicely.

The fleshy disc of Tzeentch is nightmare fuel. I have been helping a friend paint up his squiggs lately and we are doing them flesh toned as well. It is amazing how creepy formally inane objects can become with just a little pink.

Took me three tries to get a disc like this, the other two turned out too red and too purple. There should be pictures of them in here somewhere as well.

And the tzaangor skyfires. I especially like the bases on these Only 20 more tzaangor and 20 acolytes and I've painted my entire backlog.

The last 20 remaining acolytes. These things take so much effort to paint and I'm not even doing anything fancy with them. It's rather depressing.

Also, a chaos lord, cuz I have to keep my sanity while paying tzeentch hordes with too many details somehow.

I should probably start learning how to take proper pictures of these at some point.

Both the Kairic Acolytes and the Tzaangors are a reason they I decided against playing Tzeentch.
I painted a few for them for the Silver Tower set, but they have so many details that my OCD forces me to paint. It would take me ages to build an army of them.

The tzaangor I mind less, at least they're mostly just blue and then the details on their armour. But the acolytes have their blue armor, white skirts, their human flesh, their mutations, their weapons, their jewelry, the details on their armour and each of those requires it's own colour.. It's not just a load of details, it's that nearly every bit of em needs a different colour.

I feel your pain. Painting 20 Bloodwarriors and all their trim made me decided to put off painting any more Chaos for a while.

And the forbidden power box. The bigger models are a pain to put together as they're quite fiddly so if one part is 1mm out of place the entire thing refuses to stick together.
