Simple, effective, elegant.
That's what I'm going for. As you can see, there's not a tremendous amount of space on either side of the table top. That's one reason I'm keeping away from adding some of those fold-out "desk trays" that you see on some game table internet searches. The board that I had bought and set on top of another table (not quite 4x6), was starting to sag slightly at the edges since they were hanging off the table beneath. Now, with the added bracing, and edges, it'll hold it's shape, I can change out mats if needed (even make some 3D effect tops - future projects), and dice and models aren't in danger of rolling off or being knocked off. Also, now that my quads are almost 3 years old, this'll help keep wandering hands back from my models.
I'm not quite finished as you can see (I still need to trim the corners a bit more - it was getting late last night when I reached this point) but I should be able to cut them and snug them up for a tight fit real soon. I hope you like! Let me know if you have any good ideas or comments!
