@Crowsfoot I hope so I talked myself back into something - I'm working on the base at the moment while some of my other bits glue on - Its my first time at trying just about everything - I hope it doesn't show in the end results :) given what ive heared others talking about i'm expecting high things from everyone :D

Listen we were all in the same boat at some point, as you do more you expect more, I keep looking at mine and thinking it's crap but I will enter but I'm far from happy.

I'm sure you're being over critical on your own work probably the same as me for mine - I can't say exactly what I think is going to be the issue with mine because otherwise it'll be apparent which entry is mine when they are revealed :P -I still have so much more to do on it though - my main "skill" for converting is looking at my spare bits and working out what will look nice as something else then once they are in place they need green stuff to bring them all together so they don't just look like bits stuck on other bits :P - I honestly think i'm still at 30%? done Its hard to estimate I've still got like 10+ steps that need doing off my tick list :P I drew a little prototype image half way through my first few steps to stick to a solid idea and alongside had some tick boxes of what needs doing - it's daunting :P and each step can present its own unique challenges to overcome - its a lot of fun but frustrating at the same time.

I am also not to happy with how mine is tirning out, it started very god but quality has been decreasing significantly as I progress
Both sounds familiar... That's exactly what I experience...

Lol it seems I am reading girls posts here "Oh don't eat that soup it is not tasty.... Did you like the soup I have spent so much time on preparing?". You just want to hear compliments ;P

If only that was true.....

It's hard fishing for compliments without the bait - i.e no actual model to show people ;) - just trying to comment on my experience of putting it together as a channel for the energy I want to be screaming and shouting "LOOK AT MY MODEL" "LOOK AT WHAT I MADE" and to see how others are finding the experience of putting something together for the competition.

Is this still going, or closed?

TL;DR

double post. I read it. and I'm in.

@Hyperborean another him model entry the anonymity is going to pot ;) my model ive put a lot of effort into but it doesn't look like I've done much xD - and I'm questioning the rest of the project at the moment :(

Keep up the work! Been reading the other comments and very glad to hear you are making progress!

I will say when we can see each other's models we are fantastic and give solid but not mean critique. Same with our art and stories. We all want to be better but we all know being rude would kill the great mood and great support system we all got going on here. This place is great like that.

regarding the above:
The sign of an advanced/matured painter/hobbyist is the desire to have flaws and issues, and new techniques pointed out in their works. We are always looking for ways to improve.

Here here!

It does help to have a healthy dollop of humor as well

Just finished building one of the models and I have to say I am extremely happy with it!! Human sized and I spent 5 full hours but it is totally worth the pain! Lots of micro-sized sculpting I had no idea I could do that :p.
I wish I could post pics, but I guess there´ll be a marathon when the voting ends :joyful:.
Really looking forward to what you guys have to show off!!

Shieeeeet.... I've only got a month to paint something awesome.

Non painted conversion model is the rule, damn maan.
Is it OK if the base is painted but not the model? ;-)

Home stretch with the painting I think. But the home stretch in a marathon is always the hardest part so....

Started my painting entry today - extremely disappointed with the games workshop guys suggestions and the pot I picked basically had a scummy layer of whatever - preservative probably ontop despite rigorous shaking and stirring after to try remove it - its making bubbles all over what I'm painting and the colour is pooling instead of spreading evenly -
