Also, where are Canada or the US? Only Mexico and Denmark representing the North American Continent?
Canada and US did not qualify. Canada not qualifying was no surprise, but the US falling out was a bit of a twist.

Not quite. I had only two semesters of Geology to learn the basics. I am a Cartographer (studied cartography and geomatics) and part of that is to learn a bit about many scientific fields, to be able to create maps.
These days I mainly work on the digital side of things though, so less maps, more databases and program code.
