AoS NEW *rumor*

Anyone else sick of brand new armies being invented while we sit collecting stardust?
That's indeed another odd thing about all this. The major updates of the past 2-3 years have nearly all been new armies or complete reinventions which might as well be new armies. And a handfull of extentions of existing armies, like the SCE chambers. But it's very rare to actually see a major rebalancing of an existing army where existing models get a resculpt or updated rules (and it's not just a reimagining with 90% new stuff). The only ones I can think of that actually were updates are Khorne & Sylvaneth. Everything else was just new. You'd think updates should be more frequent.

It is just about money.
Sure, making a book is relatively cheap, but it probably doesn't sell many models as the players of that army already own most models.

A whole new range of models sells whole armies.

It’s likely because seraphon our not the poster boys of GW and are therefore seen as a minority that can be neglected to the extreme, with them providing just enough updates to thread us along

Money, it’s all that matters and leads to bias. I now wonder if we ever will receive a new battletome...

When a faction requires 3 different manuals WITH the FAQ on speed dial.... Probably time to update the faction.
Are there any pages in the battletome free of errata? Excluding fluff

only the slann, and that's because you cant summon a slann. all the others need errata to remove the old summon spell.

Well i forgot that these were even in the book. I must have become skilled at skipping the parts that have been errata'd out

Edit: That's a dread saurian in the video or my mind is playing tricks

pthhhh i like the new faction so far it's the only Death army i think is cool. but i think it was miss timed they still have to get all of the curent factions 2nd edition compliant and i think there time is better spent elswear.

*Cough*Fyreslayers*Cough*
O right :P

Still only 3 updates vs like 10 new (or completly reimagined) factions with several more already announced (cities, this mortarch, presumably ogres)

I mean sure, but wouldn't they overal make more money if they kept their various armies relativly healthy? Plus, players will burn out on painting new armies over and over. Especially if those armies then don't get any significant updates.

Yup. We get a dread saurian, Nakai, Gor rok, razordons, kroxigor with what appear to be sorta boxing gloves? and new rites. Quite cool.

Also, empire stuffs :p
