AoS NEW *rumor*

Considering how long we've been getting Darkoath stuff and no book, I'd take Kurnothi getting a full book with a grain of salt.

I don’t think so - why else would they have been included in Beastsgrave if they weren’t going to be a fully fledged-out faction? I’m pretty sure it’s a matter of when they get it rather than if. Of course you may be right and Slaves to Darkness get their update before Kurnothi gets a full-on release, but I’m still betting on Kurnothi first.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ogors don't get their full release til January even if the dual box comes out sooner.
Again, I don’t think so. All the Second Edition Battleboxes we’ve seen so far have heralded the arrival of one or more tones and the new character minis for existing armies have been part of the tome release. I’m pretty sure the Ogre release will just be the new Tyrant (first in the Battlebox only and then later on his own), the Battletome, Endless Spells, Scenery and possibly dice depending on how generous GW feel.

Darkoath have had several releases as well. More than the kurnothi.

they could also just role the kurnothi in with sylvaneth they already have rules to be played in that army

They do have a lot more stuff, yes, but at least they are a playable army even if they aren’t good. They can afford to wait. Kurnothi on the other hand only have a Warhammer Underworlds warband. It would be stupid for GW to leave them with just that for a long while just to satisfy some disgruntled Warriors of Chaos players (Warriors of Chaos were the most overpowered and broken army in Warhammer Fantasy by far, so Warriors of Chaos players have had more than enough fun for a long time).

I’ve just seen that and that is just disgusting. The Kurnothi don’t even fit with those abominations aesthetically or lorewise. Why the hell did GW do that other than to show their bias towards Sylvaneth?

well sylvaneth kind of need to be fleshed out they alredy have kurnoth hunters witch are the avatars of the god the kurnathi worship so not that much of a stretch. also the new cities book tells us that the life goddess has begun to forgive the wood elves so i don't see a problem.

It's clearly going to be Ogres and Bonereapers together first, as Ogres were first confirmed to be in a 'Feast of Bones' thing and then Ossiarch were revealed to be collecting the 'Tithe of Bones', so it's clear that these are going to be both released in a Battlebox that features the new Tyrant and existing Ogre models against a portion of the Ossiarch army, alongside the updated Ogre Battletome and all the other Ossiarch minis. This will most likely take up all of October.

Then GW confirmed that they were going to release those ghastly plastic Sisters of Battle in November, and knowing how GW love their Imperium stuff, this will probably take up all 4 weeks in that month, or if not, the remaining weeks will be taken up by Storm-of-Magic-for-40K.

Historically December has always been the month where GW just release a bunch of new SC boxes and Battleforce boxes along with other Christmas bundles, so I wouldn't expect anything here.

HOWEVER, January has always been an AoS month. This year it was Gloomspite Gitz, last year it was Maggotkin, the year before I think it was Disciples of Tzeentch and the year before that I think it was Seraphon (which was just after AoS came out in July 2015). This means I'm pretty certain the next AoS release will be then, but I'm pretty sure that it won't be Slaves to Darkness or Seraphon 2nd Edition.

I'm surprised that none of you have noticed that GW have already teased another new faction - remember the Kurnothi warband in Beastsgrave? GW have provided some physical evidence that an army based around these chaps is going to arrive soon, and the earliest they can arrive is January, for the reasons above. I'm pretty sure that Slaves to Darkness and Seraphon will be later on next year, probably in the spring.

I hope you’re right! I’d love if they did do a satyr/centaur themed army. I’ve only got my lizardo boys and apart from that a few models here and there from other factions that I liked as they didn’t float my boat. But I’ve bought Underworlds: Beastgrave purely because I loved the look of the Kurnothi warband! Those plus a seraphon update next year would be a dream come true!

Not a rumor per se, but somewhat related info:

An Inquisitor visited my local GW store last week (from the german office, second highest management level for Germany). He is new to the position and is currently doing the rounds and visiting most german GW shops. Had a chat with him, little tidbit: he already visited alot of shops, and according to him Seraphon is one of the most popular factions and sells really well.

Found that rather interesting.

I'm sure it will happen, but there's no reason to believe it will happen immediately after their dual box (which we still don't have an approximate date for). Both Slaanesh and the Sylvaneth had to wait quite a while for their update after the box teased the new models.

This makes sense why we have not seen an update yet. GW would want to update older less used factions to get the community buzzing about them. Lizards have staying power. No need to update until near the end.

oh goodness i hope so

I have no doubt in my mind Seraphon are getting a big update. Here are my reasons:

- We already got a big box last Christmas
- We got new spell lore in the 2019 handbook
- Our army sells well
- Every faction is getting an update. I can't find the source on this, but everyone is getting an update.
- Our battletome is fully out of date

It just makes sense. I doubt we'll see our finecast models get replaced anytime soon. But i would bet on a new book, endless spells, terrain, and a new hero.

ok in order
1 i don't know why every one keeps mentioning the Christmas box all they did was repackage egsisting models
2 yup and it's bad like they where trying to make it bad
3 i agree it amuses me that they won't update such a popular army
4 it was in a press release last October ill try to find it
5 and has been for 3 years and yet they took this long to fix it

mmmm i would rather have them drop all of our fine cast (not that hard guys my brother could do it in 20 hours) then get new stuff but anything is good

If the Seraphon are going to sell regardless of an update, then it makes sense to update pre-existing and release new ones factions. Hence, we have the Grots, Blades of Khorne, Fyreslayers, Cities, Oruks, Sylvaneth, Skaven, Flesh Eater Courts, and Slaneesh. I bet you, asides from new factions, none of these factions sold as well as the Seraphon but have done much better since their update. I really think GW has done a good job with AoS this way tbh.

This year was principally to get all factions up to speed in 2nd Edition like GW did last year for 8th Edition 40K. Perhaps next year GW plan to flesh out some of the factions released in First Edition by giving them some more models, and perhaps this is a hint of what GW have planned for the expansion of Sylvaneth. Would rather that the Kurnothi were still a separate faction, as Satyr and Centaur Elves don't fit with the tree-spirit theme of Sylvaneth, but if Sylvaneth are getting these as an expansion, that's a sign that hopefully some of the other factions released in First Edition with limited model lines will also get some new stuff next year (perhaps then they will release some new Fyreslayer units to give us more of a troop roster ;))

Disappointing with the 2 new start collecting boxes for Cities Of Sigmar. Another f*****g dwarf faction! The dark elf box looked ok. But why no Steam Tank and handgunners?

They didn't even bother to fit the Empire stuff onto round bases yet.

it's not in keeping with the current tree spirit thing but it is very much in keeping with updated old world wood elves faction being a coalition between the two. i would love to see more fyre slayers maby a lava elemental or stone forged dwarves like really old chaos dwarves but without the dark powers.

it's not a new army it's just disposesed a lot of people have free guild because it didn't suck as much as the others. so this is for the ealf and dwardin players. true i would love to see an empire box with the griffon or a tank but i think that's coming at Christmas.

To be honest, it surprises me they only released 2 city boxes, instead of 3 or 4 with a different focus on aelf/human/dwarven subfaction

Meh, Darkoath have been represented as fairly distinct from the regular slaves to darkness, at least designwise. And given that the first few darkoath models came around about a year ago I wouldn't be too convinced GW isn't capable of leaving a "new" faction in the background for a long long time while updating random nonsense. Hell, on top of being introduced ages ago they were heavily featured in the fluff surrounding the whole nonsense with Nagash. The other 3 prophets did come with entire new factions, or updated factions (grots, nighthaunt, sacrosant chamber SCE). But for some reason chaos only got their Warqueen out of it.

3 demigryfs
1 battlemage
14 free guild guard (as is tradition i have made it so the numbers don't make sense)

steam tank
helstorm gun
cog smith
12 hand gunners

10 phoenix Guard
14 and 1/2 sisters of the watch
